Direct replacement programmer
This unit will replace EP2000, EP2001, EP2002, EP3002, EP6002 Models. Ours was EP2001. The old backing plate with cables connected stays on the wall exactly as before and you don't need to touch it, and the new programmer plugs straight in. The old programmer plus the new backing plate can then both be disposed of.
More programming options are available for the new unit compared to the old one. I needed to follow the instructions very carefully, and get my head round the system of settings, to get the set-up exactly right.

Easy fix
Having got a call from my mum saying I’ve got no heating or hot water I investigated the problem and found the programmer to be dead well it was around 20 years old! I’m no heating engineer but was pleasantly surprised to find this unit was a direct replacement for her old one it took 5 minutes to replace as it clipped straight on to the old back plate no wiring required and was very simple to program great easy fixRead full review

upgraded potterton boiler central heating programmer
The replacement programmer is easy to fit, looks attractive with the blue background light and easy to set up. Clips straight on to the existing background plate ie no additional wiring is required assuming the backing plate condition is not damaged. Hopefully will provide another 20 years of trouble free operation - from experience pity the boilers are not as reliable as their controllers.Read full review

So simple

Potterton EP2 Programmer Replacement
Ordered this Programmer because I wanted a direct replacement for the EP2000!
Arrived quickly and well packaged, no need to change the baseplate, new Programmer fit very nicely on to the existing plate and clipped in nicely! No need for the locking screw to be used, saying that if you do use the old backplate then there is no provision provided for the locking screw anyhow!
After installing the programmer don't forget to alter the setting to gravity or fully pumped!! 👍😀Read full review
