Review

Overall not a bad product, looks like it comes from a Saab as the Saab logo comes up when it’s turned on, this was not mentioned in the description but maybe part of the settings. Not looked into it too deeply at this point.
A useful bit of kit if you can handle the peculiarities if anything that is made with apple products in mind.

Check your mobile is compatible

Great idea in principle, As a stand alone unit it just plays radio and offers bluetooth connection for phone/text only, BUT it also allows your phone to work through the head unit, giving you access to all your phone apps in the car using your phone's desktop.

However this unit will only talk to iPhone and Android; if you do not have an iPhone which is plug n play, and intend to use an Android, then it is VERY important to check your phone is compatible. For example my Galaxy J5 is not, other Galaxy's are. I happened to have an old iPhone 4 which I'm using and leave it in the car ( you could get a used iPhone that works but has a broken screen or some cosmetic issue for circa £30.00 circa pounds off ebay and use that)

If you do go the Galaxy route, then there are several software hoops to jump through;

1)You need to download an Android compatible rooter software (they advise first backing up your phone as things could get deleted during the download process).
2) you then need to download a micro USB cable adapter software so the pioneer to android adaptor (approx £60.00 for a genuine pioneer adaptor) can be used.

This should enable you to connect to the head unit you can use your phone's apps such as GPS which will play through your speakers.

There is no USB 2.0 outlet or MP3/4 connection, nor can you play CD's or bluetooth music - you can only play stored music from your phone (or stream it at a cost!).

Radio reception is excellent, and there is a GPS aerial to enhance your phones own GPS reception.

The hands free on my Rover 75 works perfectly. A mini microphone is supplied which i secreted behind the courtesy light above the rear view mirror, which itself is holding the satnav ariel .

Overall this is a useful tool providing you know your way around your phone, and feel confident in downloading software from the internet.
