Philips Aluminium Collection HR1861/00 Juicer

GREAT JUICER

This will be my 3rd Philips HR1861 juicer in about 6 years, why the same one well it suits my needs, being able to place fruit n veg into the juicer shoot without cutting it up is a real bonus although sometimes apples can be a bit big and you'd need to chop in half.

I juice a variety of citrus fruits, green leaves n root veggies however you need to make sure you place things in the juicer in a certain way, you don't have too it's a bit easier, example: if you put spinach, broccoli and fennel in the shoot you won't get a lotta juice it's all very dry veg so load it with piece cucumber first, spinach, drop your ginger in then your lemon, broccoli and an apple the juicer fruits will help extract the juice from the dryer veggies it's a bitta of a learning curve.

Like a lot of electrical equipment these days there not built to last eventually it does grind to a halt of course its all dependant on how often you use it however I really like this juicer and I would recommend it although you'd be hard pushed to find it brand new as I believe it's been discontinued.

Not as good as expected.

It is easy to use and fast BUT when I juiced fruit there was a lot of thick scummy foam which was a bit off putting. It was better with veggies, I used all sorts but added an apple for flavour. It needs to used straight away so I freeze some of it for use the next day which works well. I shall persevere with it for a while.

Cleaning is a chore. A lot of the debris collects round the top instead of all being forced into the bin. It does clean off fairly easily if done straight away but there is a lot of cleaning to do. If left it dries on and is difficult to remove.

Disappointed

This product was actually useless when it arrived as it was missing the 'pusher tube'. It did not show one in the picture, which I missed, so my fault to some extent. However, I had only got it to replace the lid on my existing juicer, which had broken. Unfortuneately, the lid on this 'new' one was also damaged which wasn't visible in the picture. So pretty disappointed. Will keep it for other spare parts which might be useful in the future. I ended up getting one off Gumtree, which was a much better experience all round. I got an almost new one for much less money. I have put it down to a learning experience. But pretty cheesed off about the waste of money.

Brilliant juicer.

Very happy with purchase, this juicer is just awesome,really fast,no need to chop fruits just drop in whole, quick juicing and easy cleaning afterwards, my favourite is 1apple,1pear,handful spinach,1small orange and 3carotts with half cucumber, heaven on earth.
