Calming Effect

I bought this to bring harmony to my two cats. One is slightly nervous and the other a bit excitable. The first night I switched the diffuser on my 2 cats and myself slept in to 9am in the morning...totally unheard of!

I find the scent a bit strong for me, so I switch it on when the cats are in.The scent is still slightly noticeable when switched off.
It has a calming affect on my nervous one and he tends to sleep near it.
Therefore, I cannot fault the product as it appears to work, is sturdy and good value for money.

Unfortunately harmony between my 2 cats has not happened but this is due to this lovely weather and not the diffuser. My nervous one can escape the excitable one!!!Read full review

All it does is create a stink

To put in very basic language - It stinks. However, it has no noticeable effect on the dog, slightest bang from a firework and he turns into a nervous wreck, which is strange as he does not worry about 12 bore shotguns going off on nearby land,
To put it short, it gives humans a headache but has no visible effect on the dog. It is not "calming" nor does it "de-stress", and has no noticeable "anti anxiety" abilities
I bought this to help calm the dog over the Nov 5th weekend. It did not work.
Would not buy again nor recommend buying to others. I give one star as I cannot leave a zero star rating.Read full review

Pet Remedy Cat/Dog Calming Diffuser

This is an excellent product. It’s used by the RSPCA for calming their rescue animals My little cat had been very stressed by the death of her sister and also 6 weeks of renovations going on in the house- lots of noise, dust and strangers in the house. Cat sitting a highly strung Bengal with major stress issues. A vet suggested this piece of kit and to be truthful we thought it was no different to any other diffuser. However,it has an effect that other brand names have failed to achieve. Its a very intense aroma at times. It can be a little 'farmyard' and you think the cat has had an accident! Its worked very well though,and combined with addressing the cats other requirements for a de stressed life we are very happy with the outcome. Better than even hoped for!

Have used other similar well-known products for pair of sometimes, anxious cats: drawn to this as was a natural product. Yes, for 1st day or 2 t valerian smell was more apparent-but truly, this seems to have been an absolute blessing for the cats! Within days, 1 of them who’d been over-grooming due to changes w/environment & pretty stressed etc- stopped. All fur has now regrown & he’s eating better too! The pair seem generally more settled w/one another- they can fight @ times like bro’s do & occ.is more than play. Seems to have had more of a positive impact on them both tho’ in this, & far more likely to be being kinder w/one another again! AND it’s lasting longer than other used products! So pleased w/it, have ordered refills & t spray- for trips to vets etc too. Will see how that works out?! Would definitely recommend - be aware of Initial smell- & if pos, position away from human living areas- your cats(pets) however won’t bat an eyelid & will hopefully noticeably re-settle, just as mine have! Calmer dog

We live next-door to the neighbours who drag the area down & regularly have police on their doorstep, the constant noise from them has our dog on alert all the time and he barks at every little noise & runs round anxiously whining. The plug in kicked in with a strong herby smell which isn't the most pleasant but fades after a couple of days (scented candles do a good job of masking it) & it had a calming effect, our dog stopped running around constantly whining and seemed to be calmer. He still barked at dickhead neighbour sounds such as them screaming at top of their lungs at each other & slamming their door (hard enough to rattle our house & knock out satellite dish out of signal). Can tell its getting towards the end of the plug in as he's started to become whiney again, will definitely buy a refill as it does have an effect & is cheaper and more legal than trying to source a hitman to resolve the noisy neighbours. Calmed my anxiety ridden rescue cat!

Bit gutted about this item

I can’t say of it has an effect or not but it’s been giving our foul smells in our house every since I put it in, we started smelling this gone off smell, we thought something had died or there was mouldy clothes or something, it’s this plug in, I’ve taken it out now and feel like I’ve wasted my research time and money because it had so much promise from the reviews I read.
