Good value for money and generally well made
These sandals are equipped with long spikes which ensure good penetration of the soil. My only concern is that with heavy soil the sandals are hard to pull up and the straps tend to come undone. They certainly behave better when the soil is nice and moist.Read full review

Brilliantly impractical
Does your garden have a full-sized glacier that requires crampons or maybe it halfway up the North Face of the Eiger? I'm sure these would be fine in snow but in clay soil they are not practical.
The idea behind these Aerating Sandals is simple enough - they have got to be a good idea, right? Well ... No. The idea is good but the product has design flaws and walking in them is no easy matter.
The design flaws are:
1 The rear strap is too short - it is very difficult to fasten.
2. The fastening mechanism on both the front and rear is not secure - after a few steps, the things become loose and then you are out of them, and you start again..They cannot be drawn tight and do not stay tight.
3. I had hoped that I would be able to push my electric mower while wearing these (DON'T DO THIS AT HOME!) It suddenly struck me that the nails could go through the cable or I stood a fair chance of falling over. (And turning round was a nightmare!)
Until the fastener is redesigned - I would advise against your buying these - it is a great pity because the idea is brilliant - it's just that there are fatal flaws.Read full review

Unusable in current form
Sounds a good idea on the face of it but the straps and buckles badly let this product down making it an untenable purchase.
First you must think of safety so no good strapping these on to a pair of flip flops. Boots are needed and that is where it starts to go wrong unless you take a size 4 or smaller shoe fit. The heel strap is not long enough to go around the boot. So, if you cant strap them on firm enough they are not much good.
Second the plastic buckles are too weak to to do up tight as they break, two of mine broke on first use so, again rendering them useless. You see they need to be on your feet very secure or you will not be able to pull the spikes out of the ground as you walk.
Not that easy to assemble either the threads do not run smoothly on the spikes thus making it laborious to do the hex nuts up. Not insurmountable but I guess they make the threads like this so they do not work loose in use.Read full review

Not able to use them, need more and better straps
These shoes are totally let down by the straps. There are only 2 on each shoe and although I new that when I made the purchase I did not expect the uselessness of only 2 straps. They would be better also if they had metal buckles, the plastic ones are no use to anyone and overall it is impossible to make the shoes tight enough to stay on, Sink the spikes into the lawn and you cannot get them out, your foot just pulls away from the shoe. I could not possibly recommend these at all.Read full review

Lawn Aerator Sandals.
Think those are a great idea but unfortunately they won't stay on your feet as the straps won't stay tight and keep slipping and therefore step out of them. I would like to see more of secure strap with a proper buckle so they can't slip. Hope there can be a modification on this as I think they are a great idea. Read full review

Rubbish Don't Buy
Firstly the product description indicated that it was a ready assembled item which it was not i had to fit every spike before I could use them. The strap buckle are poor quality and do not hold and keep coming loose which is so annoying ! Having to stop after every few steps to tighten the straps only for them to come loose again. Eventually i gave up using them as it was taking longer stopping ... I used a fork in the end. A complete waste of money , thrown them in the bin ! RUBBISHRead full review

Better straps needed
Product is actually a really good idea but the straps are useless and come loose immediately. Coins the phrase "spoilt the ship for halfpenny worth of tar". Unsuitable for use on clay type soils
Hopeless if you have clay soil. On trying to lift the foot the sandal stayed stuck into the ground causing the wearer to either fall over or the straps to undo! We tried several different types of footwear - trainers to boots but it made no difference. Maybe they would work if you have a light, sandy soil?Read full review

Difficult to use
I couldn’t keep them on my feet but I believe there will be the same issue with any product of this design. What I did find helped was giving my lawns a thorough watering in order to soften the ground so the spiked when in and out easier. Quality good and sturdy.Read full review

Great idea, but the straps ..😭
Great idea, well priced and they do the job very well... BUT - the included straps fail completely letting this item down. They need a redesign to make them workable.
The way round it is to use strong cable ties to attach them to your feet.
Problem completely solved . Then snip them when you’re finished and use new ones each time .
