Parker PGBC-5200 Petrol Grass Strimmer

Unbelievably good! Highly recommended :)

Debated buying one of these for months, regularly reading through the reviews to see how good something like this could be when something like a Stihl is so much more expensive. Finally decided to buy one and was a little confused when it arrived as the design had changed slightly from the product photos and cocntacted the seller for comment. I was pleasently surprised by the fast response expllaining this. I was also pleasently surprised by how easy it was to put the packaged parts together. Once built, I initially struggled to get it running. It would start but then cut out. Again I contacted the seller and got an immediate response, sending a video explaining how to start, which was very straightforward, two pulls with choke on, then 1-2 pulls without and boom! Then, when out on its first use, it cut out a few times but, I worked out that I'd either got too much or too little two-stroke oil in some already premixed petrol. I quicly discovered that using the supplied mixer bottle and getting the mixture perfect at 40:1 ratio resulted in perfect operation. I upgraded the strimmer wire and proceeded to cut wet knee length grass and tall weeds in 1 acre of field over a week. Proper heavy-duty use. Having used a Stihl before, I can easily say this is as good. The individual parts may be cheaper but, I'm certain that if its looked after, it should last nicely. I had one experience where the strimmer wire caught some wire fencing and the wire enclosurer was pulled off the trimmer but, this was my fault as I'd not attached it 100% correctly. A few of the internal parts came off but, were easily fitted back and work resumed. The strimmer is nice and light, easily moved around, even for me after two recent operations. The harness is good too, although the plastic clips are a little on cheap side, one broke within a couple of hours but was easily fixed with a knot. The wire dispenser and auto-throttle also work beautifully. All in all, 100% happy with the purchase. It's a great piece of equipment and the price is unbelievable. So don't hesitate, like I did, just buy one and be happy you did.Read full review

Wise buy

I've had a couple of similar products from other manufacturers in the past but this one stands head and shoulders above the rest. Firstly, delivery was prompt. And the brushcutter/strummer well packaged. Instructions on assembly and use were supplied in a booklet and mini Cd. Assembly was easy. The harness took a time to fettle to fit but once done it is comfortable to use. Engine starting was surprisingly quick and easy, essential considering it is 52cc. It runs smoothly and is not too noisy. Throttle can be locked for effortless use. It takes a while to switch from strimmer to brush cutter. How nice it would be to have an extra arm and guard assembly so switching from one to another would be effortless. My first impressions are very favourable and would strongly recommend it. 52cc strimmer

Set up was easy and following instructions started easily. Simple to put together .Appears to be sturdy enough but not used for any length of time so at the moment cannot assess the possible longevity but looks promising especially if looked after.
At 52cc.it is twice the size of my Stihl and is heavier but manageable.
My only complaint is the harness.I had to employ the help of my wife to figure it out and put in place.Have not mastered this yet but it has already almost cost me a divorce.
Like most things they need practise after which I will get used to it.Otherwise I shall use the harness of my Stihl.
I think the machine should perform well and do what any other strimmer does, and at a third of the cost of some of them ,must be well worth the money. Have not connected the brush cutter.Read full review

Good value Strimmer

A good strimmer at a good price. Both brush cutter and line strimmer. Starts easily and supplied with a fuel measuring container. Unusually it has a 40:1 oil/petrol ratio rather than the more common 50:1 ratio which a lot of pre mixed fuels come in. Only real downside for me (age related!) is the Engine is on the heavy side, however it is robust and powerful.

Parker brand strimmer

Recieved the strimmer in excellent timing. The packaging was strong and robust. Very easy to unpack. Good illustrated instructions where easy to follow. Assembly was easy. First start went as per instructions. Beautiful sound to the engine. Cuts through grass like a hot knife through butter! So make sure to take the instructions advice and wear suitable PPE. Strimmer is strong and made from high quality metal. If your thinking of buying one I would highly recommend doing so. You can get the grass duties done easily and look the part too. Good piece of kit, ideal for overgrown garden

Bought this to replace my old one , which was like my ex-wife, didn’t work, no support , costly and whined all the time without doing anything.
Speedy delivery, easy to put together and although quite heavy, it came with a harness which makes using it easy.
Comes with a full spool of extra strong cord and with a steel blade which cuts through brambles etc.
A must is using goggles and covering up with protective gloves, boots etc, its a powerful beast that cuts through roughage and tall grass easily .

Joy to use,loads of power.

Easy to use and good starting,cuts well and easily. Although after two days of cutting I got a painful right hand, i found triggering the throttle a little tedious especially keeping it on half refs.ile wear a glove next time may solve everything.still an excellent tool.

Powerful and great value for money

Outstanding value for money! Delivered very promptly, it was remarkably easy to assemble and the instructions in the booklet were clear and easy to understand. The engine worked first time and starts very easily. It is powerful and cuts through most things I have worked on. The brush cutter is very effective. The only complaint I have is that the "bump feed" on the spool isn't working - not sure why. Also, the fuel mixer bottle provided has a small hole in it and leaks badly but I haven't yet asked for a replacement.Read full review
