very good features,and software for 2008 vintage.

Owned two of these machines over the years. Last of the quality DVD recorder/players. Upscaling and deep colour excellent. Startup a bit slow, and accessing the menu and features a bit cumbersome,but 2008!, so not the latest chips ect.. The only main quibble is that these machines have a bit of a reputation for DVD/RAM failure,so always a worry when the U61 or U88 codes pop up in the display. New drive repairs are VERY expensive,so use a cheap upscale DVD player occasionally to eek out the Panasonic useful life. Lots of machines on EBAY, but wonder how much life left in them!. Panasonic DVD recorder

Best choice if you want to record programs from your Virgin or sky boxes as this recorder unlike the newer designs have the scart sockets on the back so to be able to connect up. This model also upgrades your picture quality to HD when playing back through an HDMI lead into TV sorry this model dose not recorder in HD but still gives great picture quality. HD recorders are out there but cost a fortune. This one is a replacement for one I had before which broke down but did last me quite a few years and that's why I got this one again. I first got a manual from the internet, this made using the recorder so easy to understand its actions. The programs recorded are super clear.There is no built-in HDD, but the recordings I make on my Humax can be easily transferred to this machine and onto a DVD.
