Device works as advertised
Sort of mixed bag. I does what I expected however it was open and used when I received it. Small scratches but it does work and it gives what I assume is accurate information regarding frequency, voltage and current draw. It can also give estimated cost of operation based on kW cost you enter. Be aware that it must remain in the circuit for you to see all the information. Only the cost per KW seems to remain in memory. I suggest this to investigate older appliances and how well a generator is holding frequency and voltage (some do better than others)Read full review

can't use this meter
I bought this product to monitor my grow lights but the meter doesn't measure high enough.
My lights are 230w and the meter doesn't measure that high.
The P3 Kill A Watt EZ was easy to understand and operate. Takes the guess work out of it.
I recently bought a small inverter generator and wanted to check the actual wattage requirements of my appliances as well as tools and equipment. The P3 also shows the max startup watts of appliances which is necessary to know when estimating current draw so I don't overload the generator. It is easy to operate, large LED readout numbers, and fun to estimate electric cost of each appliance. I now know how many total electric items I can operate on the generator at one time. This helped me plan for home emergency power outings which are sure to be more frequent in the future. I have owned the P3 for about a month.Read full review
So much better than the older and outdated Kill-A-Watt.
I have bought the Kill- A- Watt and now the Kill- A- Watt- EZ. The P3 P4460 Kill- A- Watt- EZ is able to calculate the cost of running an appliance for an hour, month or year without you having to use a calculator. It also has a memory so when you unplug it or the power goes out it still retains the readings. It still needs a back-lit display but is definitely an improvement over the earlier Kill A Watt. It is limited to 15 amps. It can not handle 20 amp loads like an air compressor. When exceeding 15 amps the screen will blink on and off.Read full review

Better than sliced bread
Everyone should have one of these. You can compute the cost of running appliances in your home. It has dozens of uses for the electronics enthusiast and restore/repair person. As I stated before every home and shop should have one of these and learn to use all of the functions. Be sure to get the P2 P4460 Kill A Watt EZ. Make sure it is the EZ as this has all of the extra functions that make it so useful. Aloha from MauiRead full review
I know watts up!
Reliable, easy to use watt meter. Kill a watt has been a trusted brand in my toolbox for many years. I was very pleased to acquire a new meter as mine seems to have been lost over the moves.

Nice Meter.
The device is easy to use and provides good information on the electrical consumption of whatever is plugged into it. It would be an even better product if the screen was back lit when a button is pressed. It's hard to read the display in dark places.Read full review

Very useful watt and current monitoring. It can also calculate costs if you enter the unit cost. It stores the values in memory.
Excellent watt meter. Highly recommended.

good information
I bought this meter to determine how much my pond pump was costing to operate. Really eye opening!
I have checked a number of appliances and the information is very valuable.
The only thing I would add to this unit is back lighted screen.Read full review

Bought the P3 Kill-A-Watt monitor to determine how much electricity my wood shop consumed so I could convert it to Solar power. Worked great, easy to use and is quality built

Works good, but......
Seems to work. But somewhat hard to use. It is very difficult to plug an appliance into the outlet on the front - just seems too tight. The plug going into the wall also seems to fat or misaligned or something, because it is very hard to plug in. But once everything gets connected it works just fine.Read full review
