WIRELESS TABLE TOP INDOOR OUTDOOR WEATHER STATION

My old OREGON wireless indoor outdoor weather station form the1990's finally died. I had to replace it and found this smaller OREGON was now their closest replacement to my older model. It was also ON SALE at a price point of $12!

There are many table top weather stations our there, but there are very few that are 100% wireless AND that have long battery life. I refuse to use a wired weather station! My older unit had unbelievable battery life in both pieces (base station and remote sending unit....3 to 5 years!). Time will tell what this unit yields.

The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was the lack of outdoor humidity information (it does give indoor humidity information). I fear the 'wireless' OREGON's are going to be discontinued, so I bought 2!

Wont connect

The unit won't connect to my base station. It powers on fine and I can see the temp and humidity on the remote unit but not the main station. I reset the remote unit a bunch of times and it connected once, then it lost connection after a couple of hours while sitting within inches of the main unit. I will end up throwing it away.Read full review

They're great if you're not using them outside.

I have an old unit that requires these sensors. Unfortunately they are not built for outside and they rust out in humid Florida weather. I have one sensor without the front display that I now use for the outside. It's working fine. These ones I strictly use inside in different rooms. I've added a picture of one of my older sensors to show the corrosion that happened inside the unit.Read full review

Oregon scientific

Great product! Received as a gift 6 years ago. Remote sensor still worked, just not all the time. Fantastic to look at the base unit and see: time, outside temp., humidity, moon phase and inside temp. and humidity at a single glance. Easy set up. HIGHLY recommend.Read full review

Replacement Unit

This is a replacement to my original THGR122NX outdoor remote sensor. While the unit was still transmitting data to my base unit, the digital display recently and quickly faded and became unreadable while outdoors. The original outdoor sensor lasted a good ten years. The unit would require that I replace the batteries about every two years. The unit worked fine during multi-day sub-zero cold snaps. I moved the old sensor to the garage where I can track minimum and maximum humidity levels in the heated garage on the base unit.Read full review

Great sensor

I've had the base unit for several but last year pygmy owls started roosting in the same place I placed the sensor so when the battery died (about every 18 mo.) I needed a new sensor to be placed away from the owls.Read full review

The Sensor is not accurate in humidity readings

Have two other sensors but needed one more for measuring attic temperature. The new sensor reads 10% low on humidity as tested against wet and dry bulb thermometers and charts. Another reads about the same but the third is way higher. A little high in price with China made gear usually inexpensive. I'm looking into modifying the circuit to raise the humidity readings on both sensors by ten percent.Read full review

Oregon Wireless weather sender.

I needed extra senders for rooms in my house. These work but do not transmit very far, especially if there is aluminum backed insulation in a wall between the sensor and the display.

A dwindling resource

Glad I found this listing. My 10-year-old transmitter finally succumbed to the first heavy rain of the season. I was resigned to purchasing an entire new weather station, but couldn’t find one with the features I liked. Then I found this listing for an exact replacement transmitter, and I’m back in business for another 10 years. Read full review

Great Gadget

This is a great little sending unit, which I place outside one of our sliding doors. We have 2 base units indoors, which synchronize with the THGR 122NX. One of the first things I do each morning is to check the outside temperature and humidity...from a base unit. Very handy, but I believe the humidity readings are not as accurate as they should be.Read full review
