Very Good unit, simple to set up, works great on wireless network which makes lots of on line music available
Very Good unit, simple to set up, works great on wireless network which makes lots of on line music available. it has 2 speaker connection which provides A & B speakers. Does not have fancy 5XX surround sound speaker set up, which I did not need. Lots of inputs. I did buy a $6 "Bi-pole" FM antennae which worked much better than the included simple one wire one. All and all, I am very pleased. It replaced my 1973 pioneer 737X tuner amp (which was loosing one channel sometimes). Uses ~50 watts power input, much less than the old pioneer (170 Watts)Read full review

Quality feaures and performance for the money
Great features and designed for ease of use. Input for turntable and CD player along with Bluetooth are what I was looking for. Radio programming was simple. Haven't tried many other features, and the manual is a bit daunting as far as types of files that USB port will support (there are way too many different types listed that I am not familiar with. I did try connecting an iPhone with it's charging cable but was not able to play music. Paring the phone using Bluetooth was simple. Great for the price.Read full review

A fine modestly-priced amp, easy to set up and use
I bought this modestly-priced amp to temporarily replace my fine DIY vacuum tube monoblocks (which are acting up and I need to fix). I am driving a pair of Klipsch RF-5s. The sound quality of the Onkyo is not comparable to the monoblocks, in terms of separation and definition, but it is surprisingly good. I am using the optical input (connected to a Macbook), a digital coax input (connected to an antique Squeezebox, playing FLAC files) and I am playing Spotify over WiFi. Everything works and was easy to set up. There is plenty of power to fill a 600 sq ft room with sound (but I only play classical music at sensible volumes). So, all in all, I highly recommend this nice little amp. I haven't owned a solid-state amp for years, and am pleased at the progress that has been made, for the price.Read full review

Best Network Receiver
A when coupled with good speakers, a stereo receiver such as the Onkyo TX-8140 produces exceptional audio quality when compared with smart speakers (Amazon, Google, etc.). After setting up the network connection the Onkyo TX-8140 can sync to various URLs like Tune-In and Pandora which are free, providing a huge variety of music, news, podcasts, etc. Use the smart phone App to select any media you like. The unit can drive passive or active speakers and an active sub-woofer. I could not detect any audible noise or distortion. This is the lowest cost receiver with the best features and highest audio quality one can purchase, providing you find it available, as the demand appears to be greater than production. I have 2 Onkyo TX-8140 receivers: 1 for bedroom, 1 for home office. Absolutely no regrets.Read full review

Solid, Simple & Powerful!
I was looking for a receiver that was simple to use and would be a good performer for both music and TV. For music I have been using the WiFi functionality to listen to my SiriusXM and it works wonderfully. It's so much more convenient than Bluetooth, but this receiver has that too. For movies it also performs superbly and has the added benefit of a subwoofer out. All in all I would have to say this is my best audio component purchase to date. Excellent!Read full review

Good reciever
Was looking for a 2 channel with network capabilities. This fits the bill nicely. Currently set up with a pair of Elac B6 speakers and a sub. The sound is very good, although I change the treble and bass a lot depending on music type. Very loud and clear, will soon benefit from an additional pair of speakers that bring out more mids and highs. Bluetooth works well, even the audio on av cables from the tv sounds very good. Very satisfied so far.Read full review

Great Upgrade for System
Great Sound, Plenty of Inputs (HDMI, Optical, Digital), Wifi, Bluetooth, what more could you ask for to upgrade your system? Not much that I know of that's currently out there.

Great sound quality for listening to music
This is a great receiver if your old school like I am and your just looking for a 2 channel amplifier to listen to great music.
It has the phono plugs so you can listen to your old albums. It has newer technology like Bluetooth and WIFI but most of all the sound quality is incredible.Read full review

I am satisfied with this purchase. It has replaced a very old Fisher radio receiver 100w per channel
The receiver gives good sound, and is full of up to date options, like internet connection, blu-ray, and usb. I like the phono connection. The owner's manual could be more user friendly. Took me a while to understand the instructions on how to connect the receiver to internet wifiRead full review
