Great sound quality

I was using a DVD player to play CDs and the sound was "OK" but with this CD player the sound quality is really improved and it's noticeable. Seems the digital to analog converter used in this player is much better. The player has a digital output also in case you wish to hookup to an amp with digital inputs. The player has a quality feel to it and the CD door opens and closes very smoothly with no noise.Read full review

BEST CD PLAYER FOR THE MONEY

Comparing the sound quality to my $4000 DAC and transport the difference is very close. In some ways, I like the Onkyo better.

Performs like a far more expensive player

It wouldn't be fair to review the Onkyo C-7030 by comparing it to my primary CD
player (an Arcam CD82) . . . but at a mere fraction of the cost the Onkyo does a
more than credible job of offering very good (sometimes excellent) sound when playing most of my classical CDs.

Connection to my integrated amp took no more than a few minutes; it couldn't be easier to use; it looks - and operates - like a more expensive player.

I'm an LP guy, and it's been a long time since I had a stand-alone single-disc CDP. I bought this one with some trepidation but...
I use a Dual 1019 turntable with a Grado Black 2 cartridge for LPs. The Onkyo C-7030 sounds so close to that turntable rig that I can't really tell the difference. That's the highest compliment I can give any CDP.Read full review
