Lovely optical quiality, lightweight & great value.

Fabulous for the money. Compared these back to back with some ~£150 versions (Ostara Elinor) & there isn't too much difference. Weight was better! Sharpness to edge of view was nearly as good. Colours of faint stars only slightly harder to enjoy. Focusing is smooth, right eye adjusts to suit your 'sightedness'. These are good quality optics, you'd need to spend a lot more money to get any better.Read full review

Lightweight and easy to use with great features

Lightweight and easy to use. Great range of vision. After researching various manufactures of binoculars . We found that the Olympus 10 x50 DPSI matched our needs what we wanted to use it for.

Great optics at a bargain price

Lovely bins for the money. Sturdy, feel nice in the hands and comfortable to hold. Images are bright and sharp. 50mm objectives collect a good amount of light, especially suited to low light observations and astronomy. Pleiades, M42, Andromeda galaxy and beehive cluster were all picked out with ease and looked great. I bought the 8x40 version also when I realised how well made they are. Highly recommend.Read full review

Very Clearly a Winner!

These Binoculars are superbly clear, precisely Colimated (Lens's focus precisely to give sharp image) and, in my opinion, extremely good value for money. Olympus are a company that produces good quality items in the field of vision, but these, at this price range, are exceptional.
In use daytime: Stunningly sharp optics for pass-times such as bird or animal watching.
In use night time: When we have clear skies (!) these Bino's bring them to sharp points. The closer Orion's belt and Sword can all be seen in one spectacular, jaw-dropping view, using these Olympus 10x50 DPSI. This is because a 50 mm Objective lens lets in more light, so is suited to Astronomy.

Crystal clear, good build quality and excellent price.

After spending a fair amount of time weighing up the pros and cons of binoculars below £200 I ended up opting for the Olympus 10x50 DPS-1
I read a lot of reviews from the experts writing for various websites and magazines and even purchased a pair from Go Outdoors which they listed as the best to buy under £100. It was returned on the same day. I also tried their recommended binoculars in several stores but again I was disappointed.
A person reviewing a pair of binoculars and placing them at number one position does not necessarily mean they are the ones for you. You need to try them yourself. The Olympus binoculars I bought for £90 are exactly what I wanted. The style, the weight, build quality and the performance of the lenses are what I was looking for and found eventually.
All I can say is that they were not in any of the reviews I had read but they were exactly what I was looking for. I would highly recommend them.

Olympus quality for modest money

Despite their modest price tag these binoculars deliver a good performance as indeed they should with a trusted name like Olympus. Yes there is some mild chromatic aberration at the fringes but no more than I've seen on considerably more expensive binoculars. They are very sturdily built but not at all heavy in the hand. Eye relief is comfortable enough and they provide an immersive, bright and clear view. They represent good value for money.Read full review

Terrific binoculars for the money

Brought these to replace 25 year old vivitars whose rubber coating had gone sticky. The Olympus are better made, clearer optics, and weigh pretty much the same. As an occasional user, I see no point in paying any more. I am very pleased with this purchase.Read full review
