Ocean Digital Wr01c WiFi Internet Radio WLAN Wireless Tuner Bluetooth Branded

Great little internet radio, but lacks sound and DAB. Check spec carefully when ordering.

This item was advertised amongst a bunch of similar products that mostly had some kind of built-in speaker system, while this one didn't. I missed that point when ordering, and so am now in some difficulty without an amplifier/speaker system to play it into.
Of course in the meantime I can use earphones to hear it, and results this way are good, but it's a nuisance to always have to be tied to it by an earphone cable.
I thought about getting myself bluetooth earphones and gaining my freedom this way, but later found the WR01C's bluetooth only works one-way; it can only receive by bluetooth. It can't send out.
This item was also advertised amongst other internet radios that include DAB reception. Although WR01C is shown as having "local radio", this is not DAB; it's merely a software facility to group local stations together and play them from internet as if they were DABRead full review

Excellent compact bedside radio for use with earphones.

Ideal very compact bedside internet radio for use with earphones. Small, loads of functions and station memories. Also screen dimming, plus snooze and alarm features. Can display weather forecast plus a few other bits of information.

NOTE - it does not have a built in loudspeaker - an external speaker can be connected to it using a 3.5mm jack plus cable only. I understand that the bluetooth feature works in the reverse direction ie to stream content TO the Ocean radio, not from the Ocean radio (but Ive not tried this).

Can’t teem this up with my Anker Bluetooth speaker, one has to use a cable.
