Dramatically reduced condensation = highly recommend.

We'd been battling serious condensation in several rooms. The windows were running every morning, the bathroom took hours to dry after showers, sometimes staying damp all day. There was also water on the cistern which dripped onto the floor. The result was mould, of course, and much time spent drying and cleaning. This was in spite of following all advice about heating and ventilation and attempting to reduce the condensation we produce.
The unit arrived promptly. We fitted it ourselves and it dramatically reduded the condensation problem in a few days. During very cold weather we get a few centimetres at the bottom of the bedroom and bathroom windows but this is 50 times better than before we had the unit. On milder days there is nothing and the bathroom dries after showers in an hour or so. We still ventilate as well as we can and I think this helps the air flow.
We live in a 1930's bungalow and the unit is fitted in the hall. We have it set on 4 which is quite high but seems to be what we need. NUAIRE PIV review

I cannot speak more highly of this product. I have had a mould and condensation problem in my 1930's semi for some 5 years or more. The house has solid walls with no cavity.
It seemed any bit of moisture in the air from cooking, boiling water, steam ironing, tumble drying, and bathing / showering would find its way to a cold surface in the bedrooms and hey presto mould growth.
Wow, within 24 hours of installing the PIV I noticed immediately on the window in the bedroom prone to condensate there was a massive reduction and I could actually see out of the window without having to remove by sponge or cloth the moisture build up on window surface. The smell of mould & mildew on entering the house was reduced and has now gone.
I also installed the humidity sensor control which was registering at the time of install 60% moisture content in the air.
In the 24 hours of installing the PIV the moisture content dropped to 50% and after 48 hours of install the moisture content was no longer measurable because it was below 50%.
I installed as per the instructions 1 meter from my outside wall and in the middle of my landing ceiling. I have put the fan on speed setting 3 which seems to be right for my house. I will drop to speed setting 2 when the weather warms up a bit.
If there are any minor points its that the stairs and landing area feel cooler and fresher. Yes the fan has a built in 400W heater but all this does is take the edge of the cold air coming in from the loft space
However this is far outweighed by our better standard of living now that this ventilation system has been installed.
Please believe the hype this ventilation system does work if you live in an older style house and produce normally expected moisture from modern living.Read full review

Drimaster ECO Heat HC

This has totally cured our condensation issue within 24 hours. No more wet windows and even our sticky bathroom door is no longer sticking. Really easy to install as DIY took about 2 hours. Easily wires into an existing lighting circuit. Also the house smells really fresh. It does reduce the temperature a little upstairs but is well worth the compromise for having no more mould around the windows and ceilings and totally dry windows every morning. Dry wall now !

We used to have dripping walls in the morning, but since fitting the NuaIre Drimaster they're dry. Only a little bit of water on the bottom edge of the windows rather than a puddle on the sill & dripping glass. So far the best few hundred pounds we've spent.
A bit breezy in the hall, especially in the morning when the heating's been off in the night, but NOT cold. Better overall air movement will probably mean better temperature control.

Positive Input Ventilation

Although the unit is well designed and sturdy it cannot be installed in the U.S.A. due to our electrical differences. It is made for Europe which has a 230V power wire vs.120V for the U.S.A.

Stick with vented windows...

Having installed this device and after a month or so we started to get mold spoors forming in the "normal" locations, so we have now reverted to leaving the windows in the vented position again. This device does not do what it is advertised to do. Unfortunately it must stay installed otherwise I would have a large hole in the ceiling! A waste of money, avoid!Read full review
