Nintendo Switch Splatoon 2, 2017

No Local 2player without a Switch console EACH, but it's still bright, fun and exciting

First of all - no disrespect to the excellent seller - but, I have given this game 4 stars purely because there is no local 2-player mode. Which I understand the WiiU version had!

Shame really, and, expensive cos it means each player has to have a Switch EACH just to play 2 player rather than one using joycons and another with a pro controller on same console etc!!

Apart from that and what I have seen/played - it is good family friendly, yet addictive fun. I don't even like the FPS genre, I find it boring but this puts a unique spin on things.

There are 4-on-4 online battles, in which you have 8 people in a lobby and then the game randomly picks players for each side.

The single player mode I understand is also good fun when you want to just go it alone.

Overall, having never played the original on the WiiU - very impressed and can see this getting played for a long time to come.

Takes some getting used to, not for me. You have to reach level 4 before you can play campaign mode, you play against other players over the network that can be at a higher level than you as it does not seem to be level based. I can see the potential for it to be a fun competitive game to play with against friends. Need WiFi to play.Read full review

Good clean fun

Splatoon 2 is one of the best games out right now for the nintendo switch, it's probably the best multiplayer experience on the switch and as with most multiplayer games you can get invested in it as much as you want, it is a great game to play when you don't have much time as a match of turf war only takes 3 minutes but it's also incredibely fun to play and learn and progress as a player. My only complaint is that the online chat system is terrible as it requires you to use an app on your phone.Read full review
