I have had two previous ones to the one I just ordered. I'm extremely hard on lenses (they come canyoning - the last two have both been broken). They typically handle a drop well without ill effect. AF-P lenses are a step-up

This is the new AF-P lens from Nikon. I didn't used it much actually but so far so good. It has a pulse motor which is faster than previous AF-S model. These lenses are also smaller and lighter than the AF-S. The photos are crispier with brighter colors.Read full review

Awesome lens

Great lens that seems super sharp for "only a kit lens". Some knock the mount for being plastic and not metal, but it's not an issue. The focusing is literally silent. I actually wondered if it was broken at first until I realized it was just 100% silent. You cant go wrong with this lens. The only you may or may not like is the release button you have to push to unlock the lens so you can zoom in or out. Irritating to do at first to use the lens, however, this way you dont accidentally extend it when you aren't trying to.Read full review
