Super sharp Nikon lens
I just bought this well looked after used example for use with my D610 body. I wanted the f/2.8, but knew it is a lot heavier, and with arthritis in my shoulders, weight is a factor.
This lens is better than expected. So sharp. I used to have a Sigma 150-500, and in the equivalent focal length, this gem of a Nikon is superior.
I had taken the time to read the reviews of this lens on various sites, and I’m happy to report that they’re accurate- just like the lens. Some images were necessary to crop of cars, and the sharpness, not only at the centre, but all around is superb.
I’m one happy new owner. I highly recommend this lens.Read full review

Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/4G ED VR Lens F4 G
Possibly one of sharpest Nikon lens. Compared with old Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8, this lens is (IMO) even sharper, and most important thing: it is not even close heavy as 70-200 f/2.8. Not to mention the price. And, of course, VR is absolutely amazing! I am getting sharp images with shutter speed 1/20 on 200mm.Read full review

Excellent lens
Surprised at just how good this lens is but it’s light, super sharp and a joy to use on both F and Z mount cameras

Lightweight with all the features. Great glass and handling.
There are no cons to this lens. It is very sharp and lighwieght to carry. One of Nikons best. Unlike its f2.8 sister which is very heavy, this lens is not as durable and would not handle mistreatment as well. For the money its a must have. The images compare very well to the F2.8 in like for like testing. One of the best purchases I have ever made.Read full review

One of Nikon's sharpest lenses, who needs f/2.8
Bought this rather than the lovely f2/8 version as it's lighter, has as good VR and is significantly cheaper (and lighter).
It's very well built, has good reach on a D7200 but really shines on my D700.
Use higher ISO if you need more light, yes it's a stop slower than the f/2.8 but with modern cameras using a higher ISO and the excellent VR means there are few situations where an amateur would need it's big brother.Read full review
