This System Actually Works
Now that we have installed this system, I would like at add more info to my previous review. The most important takeaway is that this system actually works!! Our house has over 5,000 sq ft total space (basement plus two floors). We have the AT&T internet 25 package and DirecTV Now streaming service. We have four televisions available in the house, with at least one one every floors (two on the main floor). We access each television with a dedicated Roku remote. We had the NVG589 Gateway, left over from the previous package, for the WiFi signal. It proved to be woefully inadequate. We might get one television working at a time, with minor buffering. But if we tried two or more at one time, it became very problematic, even traumatic, with the amount of buffering and dropped signals. After researching various WiFi systems, I felt that the Orbi had the best user rating and experiences, so I purchased the AC 3000 series (router + one satellite). We even had an AT&T technician out to the house to review our system and the existing Gateway. He replaced the NVG589 router with the newer model BMX210 Gateway. That did improve WiFi signal strength somewhat. We then tested signal strength from both the BMX210 Gateway and the Orbi, Overall, The Orbi gave consistently stronger signals than the AT&T Gateway, So, we decided to have both WiFi signals operational in our house. We use the Orbi system primarily for television streaming, and we use the AT&T Gateway system as a backup or private WiFi signal for use on computers and phones. Even the technician was impressed as this was the first time he had actually been able to evaluate an Orbi system, and he tried to remain neutral. I think we found the best or most optimal solution. I'm also sure the technology will get even better in the next few years as streaming becomes more prevalent.Read full review

Blazingly fast Wi-Fi!
This is the real deal. Everything that was wrong with my old network has been made right. Excellent power and speed, easy to set up. Go ahead and load it up with devices. No sweat. It's everything the pro reviews say it is. Jump right in. You won't be sorry. A+Read full review

Happy Campers
We have a 2400 square foot home of 1920's construction -- which means thick walls.
The Orbi system replaced several range extenders that I had located throughout the downstairs and upstairs to try to get decent wi fi signals both inside and on the outside patios. Results were always less than optimal.
Orbi, which I recently purchased, seems to have solved that. I'll update this review if I find issues later, but right now we're happy campers.Read full review

Doubled my internet speed
I replaced an Netgear C6300-100NAS AC1750 (16x4) DOCSIS 3.0 with the ORBI RBK50 AC3000 ....
The ORBI provided twice the speed on my Samsung Galaxy Phone over Cox ISP.... Improving from 56MBS to ~115MBS....
Hands down a better wireless router than other Netgear products. Easy to configure. Looks good.Read full review

Great coverage and speed
Moved from across country and ordered Xfinity internet service. The device that they installed provided very slow service in certain areas of the home. I have just at a 2,200 sq. ft. home. I did some research and decided to order the Orbi unit. The unit was easy to install behind the Xfinity modem and immediately boosted speeds in all areas of the home. Great unit at a fair price.Read full review

Game changer
Great WiFi performance, particularly with the satellite. Streaming 4k was good where the old router was located, a little slow and iffy in the bedroom away from router. With the Orbi satellite in the master bedroom, excellent 4k streaming where I need it. Also delivers modem speed throughout the house. I have the Comcast Blast plan which is 275mbps, the modem gets 325 with ethernet. The Orbi delivers 320 mbps using wifi. Outstanding!Read full review

OK with Issues
The router is fast, has good coverage and looks good. However, it has two issues that are annoying. Unlike most routers, there is no way to to give the 5GHz and 2.4GHz frequencies separate networks (SSIDs) which makes some legacy 2.4GHz only devices problematic to connect. The other annoyance is that there are no status indicators. When the main router is syncing with the satellite(s), the ring at the top will glow in different colors but after that there is nothing. You cannot look at the router of satellite to tell that it is working. Read full review

Strong WiFi signal as expected
It has very strong signal evenly around the whole house. The price of this kind of mesh router is much more expensive than a single unit router but a single piece router hardly can make the signal that evenly strong in every spots. The bad thing I experienced is the wired connection randomly malfunctioned and need to be troubleshoot to make it work again. I am not a technical guy so I can't tell if I got a lemon or this is the router's problem. If you don't mind your green and concern very much of the strong wifi signal. This would be a good deal. Amazing Mesh System!
This Orbi Home Mesh system is amazing! Our previous setup was absolutely horrible - we were using a Linksys router with a Linksys wifi extender, which we used for about a year and a half. Even with the wifi extender, the signal was awful. I finally got fed up and purchased this system, and I am completely blown away. We have zero dead spots in the house, and even in our yard! We have a 3200sq ft home, sitting on a 3rd of an acre, and have coverage everywhere. I highly recommend to anyone wanting to upgrade their wifi system.
The only con is that the app is limited in setup - you have to use a web browser on a tablet or computer to get to the advanced settings, and to top it off, you have to be connected to the router via wifi. My desktop is hard wired into the router, and it won't let me get to the settings using a browser. Keep that in mind if you don't have a laptop (which I do and use to get to the advanced settings) or a tablet.
Other than that annoyance, I highly recommend it! You won't be disappointed!Read full review

Works like a champ
I have 200/200 internet at our 3000sq ft house and was disappointed with our WiFi performance. Our router was only a couple years old but could barely sustain 10-15mbps even just a few feet away.
<br>The performance of the Orbi has been great. Even in the worst pockets of the house we are now getting 120+. In most of the house, we get around 200mbps (see screenshot).
The setup was also very simple. Had it up and running in less than 10 minutes.Read full review
