Nextbase 402G dash cam

Okay this unit has since been superseded by more sophisticated models but it depends on what you want from your dascam. Me personally, I went for this one as it provided all the bits and pieces I wanted in a dashcam and at 1080 quality as well. I have two cars so that said, I have two dash cams both are this model because I think they provide all I need and some more and in a great quality as you’d expect from Nextbase even second hand. After sales was also put to the test in that a battery went U/S and having contacted them they sent a new battery with instructions on how to install it. Not a hard job but you do need a soldering iron and a steady hand to complete it which I did and there’s been no problem since. I am very pleased with the whole experience including purchase, use and aftersales, I comfortably recommend this unit.Read full review

Not the quality I expected.

Firstly this is an excellent product & I have no complaints about its functionality. It’s reliability is a total let down. The battery failed after a few months so spoke to them & they sent me a new battery with instructions how to fit it!! What a pain. Difficult to get the thing apart & to solder the connections to the circuit board not easy. My fault I should have just made them send me a new one but thought it might not be an easy job. Nevertheless sorted it. As soon as it was out of warranty problems started kept locking up, would not switch off, was not storing video.had to keep resetting it. Spoke to them they said it was a firmware error & advised me to download & install it. I didn’t need this rubbish I just wanted one that worked & was reliable. A lot of money for a lot of hassle. Should have just bought a Chinese rubbish one for £15 & throw it away when it packs up. Will I buy a next base product again.NO.Read full review

lightweight and great features

OK, I have settled with this cam after trials and problems with other makes and models BUT I have had one go WRONG! after a couple of months which was purchased on E Bay as Cat A (meaning excellent condition) and next base would not repair. The fuse box loom and 32gb memory card is a MUST. Operation of this Camera is easy and uploads of video footage excellent day or night. Summer heat does not seem to effect like other cameras.Down Side I wish they would make the Button to store a certain video moment in ORANGE as wording is hard to see.Read full review

Excellent purchase, a must for all drivers

I was always reluctant to get a dash cam but after I was involved in an accident a few months ago I decided I would get one. After doing some research I found great reviews of this dash cam and I certainly have not been disappointed It has been an amazing purchase and gives me a bit extra confidence that if the worst ever does happen again, I have video evidence.

Dashcam robust

The nextbase 402G is fairly easy to use once set up, but has a few annoyances: some of the buttons to operate are on the top so can’t be seen in normal use and have to be used by feel once you know what is where. Also, I have owned two and both needed replacement batteries (soldering onto the board) which is tricky. I’ve also had a few SD card error messages that I haven’t got to the bottom of yet.Read full review

Really good dash cam. Only issue I have now is that i would like to also fit a rear one, linked to the front one.

I did not consider this need when I bought it and cannot do that with this one.

Best carcam yet
