Stephen King's Mr Mercedes and Finders Keepers! Review !

I Have not had the chance to read these two books I purchased yet!
Actually , I did not purchase these books to read right away!
They were just two of the books that I did not have yet in my library!
I like the jacket covers of these two books! Very simple !

Stay Out of the Crime Genre, Steve

Lifelong fan of the honorable Mr. King, and I think he's a fine human being in addition to a brilliant author. Having read and reread virtually everything he's ever written, however, I find that he has difficulty transitioning to genres outside of horror, and that is certainly the case with "Mr. Mercedes." The lead character, retired detective Bill Hodges, is hackneyed and unremarkable, and the villain, Brady Hartfield, is predictable and, frankly, too familiar. At the same time, Hartfield is unbelievable in his dual personality of good, subservient minimum-wage ice cream man/computer whiz, and bitter, psychotic killer.
One of the central plot questions revolves around how Hartfield gained access to the Mercedes he used to kill several people in a crowd at an employment fair. King devotes way too much time to this question, and the ultimate answer is neither surprising nor particularly interesting.
I was also disappointed in the sexual relationship that develops between Hodges and the much younger sister of one of Hartfield's victims. It is unrealistic and poorly developed, and it feels like maybe King is falling into the trap of many aging male authors who want to remind us that they are still sexually desirable.
Pass on this one and read "Dr. Sleep" twice instead--that's a true King masterpiece.

Awesome!

Burned through it in a few days! Pages turn themselves! Love Holly Gibney. Did the outsider and if it bleeds before I knew these existed. On to finders Keepers next!

Bill Hodges is The Man

The entire 3-book series is tremendous. If you are into Thrillers that have unforeseen twists, then this is your trilogy! I didn't buy this one to read, I needed it to complete my Hardback collection. I loaned out my original and it was misplaced. Read full review

To the point

If you like Stephen King this is must. Not like It or Carrie or all the others, but to me, better than Gunslinger trilogy.. Thought provoking and in some areas funny.-; like you can relate it to your TV watching. Only just started reading it but it's a keeper.Read full review

A different kind of story from Stephen King. Great story line and still has what makes a Stephen King book awesome! Love it!

Stephen King at his best.

Stephen King is an incredible writer and this is one of his best, the first of a trilogy, and the best of the three. In a way it is a police procedural but is guided by how one catastrophic event affects individuals and their lives.Read full review

Good condition but no dust jacket.

Was a little upset that it did not come with a dust jacket. No where in the description did it mention that it did not come with a dust jacket (that’s something I look for when purchasing used books). Book is in great shape, just wish it had the dust jacket.Read full review
