these are supposed to have a range of 4k,maybe i was wrong buying them as i am not an expert in this field,but i have walked from my house approx 300mts to the edge of some trees and i am not able to make contact,tried again walking down same road but a lot further,no luck again,i suppose the range depends on if we have no obstructions between us,which means that these are useless for us.i wanted these so if i was walking through rough/wooded areas nearby, my wife would in case of an emergency,be able to contact meRead full review

A must when in groups

We ordered these walkie-talkies as we went on a road trip to EuroDisney. We were two parties, so were driving in separate vehicles. We never were more than half a mile away from each other, but they still worked pretty well. In areas of increased interference we just changed channels, which seemed to work a treat. These were very useful in the them park too, as we could go our own ways and meet up relatively easily. The kids were kept them entertained by them too, with was a bonus! Each one takes 3xAAA batteries; we used some cheapo ones from a 99p store, which surprisingly lasted almost 2 days!
