Good quality product but pricey
Good Mira product but a little pricey, used to replace an old Mira excel cartridge that was completely gummed up and refusing to shut off.
The old cartridge was beyond repair as 20 years old and I also replaced the control cover to smarten it up (white).
Pretty easy to fit once the water is isolated for hot and cold :
Unclip the plastic covers (temp one first), working from front to back, then unscrew the 4 retaining screws of the old cartridge. Pull out the old cartridge (may be stiff) and replace with the new one ensuring new seals are located and ‘Vaselined’ in place. Screw back the cartridge and then refit the plastic control covers in the order they came off. Turn the water back on then check for leaks - All done.
Tip - leave the last temp control cover off whilst any adjustments are made to water temperature, as this saves keep popping it off and on until correctly set (mine was too cold).

Fitting this was simple. Follow the instructions and Bingo!! Had a bit of fun getting the heat setting right but it was not difficult just took a few attempts to get it just right. I am sure a proper plumber would have made it in one go but time is not important when fitting it yourself. Only tool required was a cross head screwdriver.Read full review...

Mira Excel Replacement Shower Cartridge
Bought this as a replacement cartridge for my mira excel shower as the old one was not turning off properly. Easy to fit, as it's a straight swap, although I did need to calibrate the temperature setting which was not difficult.
