well it had a valid product key...so windows did not complain about the validity of the licensed product....i have a very slow system and overall it only ranks 2.4 on at least a 5.0 windows performance scale...and 32 bits as you know is plagued with internet use problems....but it is better than what was on the hardware before even if internet stuff is non-existent or slowed to a crawl.Read full review

The Windows 7 pro installed quickly, but needed SP1 and other upgrades and updates to function. Windows 7 pro needs all that extra installation to be able to go online, unless maybe you still use an old dial-up modem. I don't think the kind of broadband connection I have even existed when this operating system was written, so its important to upgrade.
The upgrades can be tough. SP1 can be difficult to install and even hard to find. The last security upgrade package from Microsoft was a whopping 983mb and took about 5 hours to install. 2 days of work were required to modify the initial DVD installation.
