Tester
This Tester works really well - I am impressed!
I notice that the ZIF connector is showing signs that not all the contacts are closing fully!
The make is "TFXTOOL" perhaps this is a spelling mistake for "TEXTOOL" a 3M company
but it could be a fake?
I have a scrap genuine TEXTOOL connector so I will exchange the contacts as the TFXTOOL
contacts seem poor quality and easily bend unlike the contacts on the genuine version.
Apart from this a really great piece of kit - every electronic experimenter should have one...Read full review

Handy device marred by ill-fitting self-assembly acrylic box
It works well but the enclosure is a nightmare to assemble. I have bought other devices with CAD acrylic self-assembly boxes and the result has always been the same: they are a tiny bit out of tolerance and created on a computer by someone who clearly never tried to assemble what they designed. First tip to remember: soak the plastic pieces in warm soapy water for a few minutes to soften the brown paper backing. It will still take you 15 mins to get off, however. Next is to find some snips (scissors are not up to it) and break off the corners of each detent - it will help slotting the parts together. Big problem I found was the ribbon cable to the screen sticks out. Massive amount of cutting away of the end plate to clear it! The box could have been made 2mm bigger and less 'footering' as Big Clive would say would be required. My belief is that the side panels could either have been made of thinner acrylic or better still made of clip-on (not in) polystyrene. Worse, the standoffs needed to be sanded on one side to allow the sides to fit. I cut a hole for the battery with my solder gun, because NO-ONE who wants to remain SANE will unscrew the casing to change the battery! Finally, the dinky clamp lever fouled the casing - I had to snip off the corner of the cut-away. Big fail for the box; great fun and usefulness for the test unit which works amazingly well for a multitude of components.Read full review

Works well and is accurate within it's range.
When you take the tester out of the padded envelope it arrives in, you have to assemble the electronic board into a plastic case. The case is in 6 parts and is quite fiddly to put together. Mine needed a few alterations so the board would fit with the end piece of the case properly and I also removed some of the plastic from the bottom of the case so the battery was accessible without dissembling the whole thing again when it requires changing. There are no instructions at all. You have to get your information and photos / written material from the sellers page/ internet.
In use, the unit has it's limitations, but for the price, it really is very acceptable and quite accurate. I would have preferred to spend another £1.00 to get an instruction and spec sheet, and perhaps another £1,00 to get a slightly better case. Otherwise, I'm very satisfied with the unit and for the cost, you have a useful piece of test equipment.Read full review

Handy easy to use tester
Handy and easy to use great for identifying semiconductor pinouts (saves checking data sheets). I wouldn't rely on its accuracy when measuring R & C (accuracy is around 10% is my guess) it's ability to indicate ESR for testing old electrolytic capacitors is useful. would recommend for experimenting and hobby use.Read full review

Mostly very good, with just a few quirks
Mostly works fine, but it did have a few issues. A small number of transistors were identified as JFETS, which they were not, and some PNP transistors were identified as NPN until I changed the connectors around. Still impressive even so. Without these issues, I would have given 5 stars. Also, the casing illustrated is not supplied. It comes with a flat pack cardboard casing, so the picture is misleading.Read full review

Useful component tester
This has a nice, bright clear display and the ZIF socket is great for quickly getting components in and out. It's a great time saver, and good value at below £5.
The only downside is that it runs off a 9V battery (which don't have very good shelf life) and doesn't like it when the battery voltage is a bit low. I glued a small boost converter on the back and now run it off 5V from a USB port or power bank.Read full review

AWESOME piece of test kit
This HAS to be added to any electronics toolbox for anyone even half interested in electronics. It does WAY more than it says on the website as it covers MOSFETs, (don't have any jFETs to try) provides diode and transistor junction capacitance measurements, capacitor ESR and volt loss percentages as well as cap values, will tell you if a Darlington transistor is not working properly (looks like a low gain transistor with lousy Hfe and only a single diode drop if one internal device is kaput - VERY useful. Dual Schottky diodes show up as dual diodes with low forward volts. Working (single) LEDS will flash several times when testing and forward volts and capacitance shown to confirm values. EXCELLENT value for money. Oh! And so far it's still working even with the battery volts (tested every start up) down to 8.5 volts (from a brand new 9.5v) and I have tested HUNDREDS of devices already on a battery that wasn't brand new.Read full review

Not pretty, but functional, cheap and does exactly what it say. Bargain actually.
Spent ages choosing between this or several equivalent ones with fancier housing and usb connectivity.
Glad I went for this, pretty no nonesense with just a 9v battery and pretty easy to assemble. No need for a colour display, so why spend twice as much?Read full review

Mega 328 LCR Tester
No instructions on how to assemble the case, but after a few minutes
of fiddling around the case was constructed and the Pcb board was fitted.
I tested a few components I had lying around and the unit worked fine.
I would recommend this tester.Read full review
