Great for leaks
I have this on hand with my other pools supplies in case a leak develops ... kind of like having a first aid kit. I've read mostly good reviews about this product especially when used as directed. It appears when the product does not work it's when directions are not followed properly. Good price for what the product is capable of doing.Read full review

Temporary Fix
This product suprised me by actually stopping the leak. I purchased a used hot tub that holds 200 gallons of water. It had multiple leaks of which I couldn't find all of them. I ordered a quart of this thinking it would be enough due to the leaks only loseing about 1/4" of water in a few days. I used 1/4 of bottle first per instructions and drained after noticing no water on ground. Left drained for a week before refilling. Upon refilling, the leak returned and seemed to be worse. I used the remainder of bottle (3/4) and the leak stopped. I ran tub for three days and drained again. I'm currently waiting five days before refilling to check again. The product does work in that it will stop the leak. However; the length of time it works seem to vary.Read full review

disappointment
Ordered 1 quart bottle to try stop leak apparently in pipes underground around pool. would leak down appproximately 1 1/2 inches a day when pump in operation. no leak when not running and no hole in liner or steps. fix-a-leak used according to directions and did not lose any water when fix-a-leak left in for almost a week total. after pool cleaned and restarted on filtering--started back leaking. Second bottle fix-a-leak bought and used used accordng to directions on bottle on recirculate cycle as before, but used 9 days. cleaned up left over product with kreepy krawly and restarted filtration. Leaking down again just as before using fix-a-leak. did not stop my leaking problem.

It worked for me
I had a leak in the pressure line to my pool cleaner and was losing 200-400 gallons of water a day! I was able to isolate the leaky line and the booster pump from the rest of the system, and run about 50 gallons of water with 1 cup of the Fix-A-Leak in it through the line. Within a few hours the water level stopped dropping, but I let the setup run for about 8 hours. I then let the mixture remain in the pipe for 48 hours before rinsing the booster pump & pipe.
It's been 2 weeks and the leak is gone.
This stuff is a bit pricey, but when compared to digging up and repairing a line, it's a great value.Read full review

Holy Moley
Yes I am an idiot, I'll admit it, a complete idiot. I left water in the spa and winter comes and guess what? Who'd have thought it, but it froze. Yep a giant ice cube in my backyard. And as sure as day follows night, winter doth pass, and the ice age passes. This is where the spa has made its own decision to drain. Due to the magic of properties of water, and its expansion when freezing, there were numerous cracks in the hoses under the spa. Spray sealant was used with no effect, as well as attempts with plumbers tape. Finally forced to Google "spa leaks", as well as You Tube, where I discover "Fix A Leak". Excitedly I run to the local pool and spa show room and inquire about this product. I am told, " they've never heard of it". Puzzled but undaunted I go to another shop, and am told the same thing. Now I reach out via the web and cell phone, (ah the marvels of modern technology) to every expanding search of Pool and Spa suppliers. Alas to no avail.
Finally it dawns on me, I realize that why would a small businessman sell a product that he may make a few pennies on, when he would much rather sell you an item for several thousand dollars and a much higher profit margin. So off I go to "E-bay" and order "Fix A Leak". Now according to the bottle I should be using approximately 1/2 the bottle at most, BUT because I am an idiot who doesn't drain his spa, granted I was having many travails in my life at the time, but regardless I am to blame for several cracked hoses, and glad at that the fiberglass could have easily cracked as well. Anyway I wound up using the entire bottle, and it worked as advertised, all leaks were sealed. It took awhile for all to seal, and I used a garden hose as a suction tube to remove the excess jiz drifting around the bottom, I think this also saved me from numerous cleaning of the filter that the video recommends. All in all a remarkable product, I am eminently pleased, it worked as advertized and even if I have to buy a bottle of "Fix A Leak" every year, it's better than spending thousands of dollars for a item I usually refer to as my "Bird Bath" as they use it more that I do. I would recommend you watch and follow the video for best results. Read full review

Definitely worth the money...!
I have a 450-gallon spa and was leaking about 1/2" of water loss in 24 hours so not a terribly big leak but enough to cause me concern. I turned it off and it sat for a couple of years but I finally decided to resurrect it and found out about Fix A Leak and decided to give it a try. Bought the 32-ounce size as I wasn't that confident that it would work that well. I could not get any response at all from the manufacturer's customer service but the dealer where I bought it said to first try using 8 ounces per 1000 gallons or 4 ounces for my spa. I filled the spa with water and marked the level with tape. After warming the Fix A Leak and shaking it thoroughly first, I put 4 ounces in the skimmer intake above the filters (quantity 2 but both removed first) while running the pumps on low and let it run for 8 hours then shutting everything down per instructions. After letting it sit for an additional 12 hours I checked the water level and it showed absolutely no loss at all. I was amazed and used a siphon hose to remove all visible Fix A Leak residue in the spa. I then drained it completely, flushing it well before refilling and re-installing the filters. My spa is back in use and, if necessary, I still have enough Fix A Leak to do this 7 more times though I doubt it will need it for awhile.Read full review

Title
Does what it is supposed to do. You might need some help from a pool guy if the leak is in the main drain or skimmers "suction" return to the pump. You need water pressure to push fix-a-leak into the leak. Got water pressure in your jets, but none in the skimmer or main drain lines. Yo pump pushes water to the jets and pulls water from the main drain and skimmers.Read full review

Fix a Leak
After two years of having my 18 year old hot tub leaking water, this product stopped the leak. I would have to fill my hot tub with water every 4 or 5 days because of a leak. Three weeks ago I added this product to my hot tub and the leak has stopped. I did not replace the water after adding the product but I did take the filter out just after adding it. The filter is back and the hot tub is running great. I purchased a second bottle in case it starts leaking again. I am very impressed!Read full review

Amazing...
Noticed I was re-filling the pool twice as long as last year this time and suspected a leak. The bucket test clearly indicated I did; nothing visible around my in ground 25k gallon pebble tech pool, nothing under the pumps. I was VERY skeptical, but decided to give it a try before engaging in pressure testing my underground plumbing. Removed the DE filters. Applied on bottle, stirred it around every 4-5 hours for a few days with the pump running full speed. Re-installed the DE filter stirred it around and let it run for a day, cleaned my filters, then let it run a another few days, vacuumed the pool and cleaned the DE filter again. Bucket tested once more. right on the money. Cut my pool water refill bill in half. Now, I am really curious where I was losing the water. But hey, I am very happy. Hope it will last...Read full review

Probably a great fix for some situations
Sorry to say it didn't fix my leak. I sure wish it had...now the real work begins. Trying to find a leak isn't easy in a 8 person hot tub.
