Powerful Impact driver

I have a wide range of Makita LXT cordless tools with some dating back to Ni-MH battery powered and have never had any complaint. They are powerful and convenient to take anywhere. I wouldn't go back to mains powered tools.
I have given it 4 stars because I'm a little disappointed with the Impact driver. It is very powerful, I've been driving 90 x 5 mm screws into new timber full depth and beyond without pilot holes no problem. My complaint is with the trigger. It is difficult to control the speed slowly because it is rather sticky. One doesn't always want full speed and power, especially when starting screws or driving smaller screws. I would like better control of slow speed running and perhaps a non-linear characteristic.
One point I would make is to use bits designed for impact drivers, it gets through even good quality 'normal' bits at an alarming rateRead full review

These were to replace my original ones which were worn out. I only ever buy makita tools because of their quality and durability. The only negative comment I’ve got is the case these tools come in for some reason makita have replaced the flat case which had storage compartments for driver bits etc with this horrendous big box that has no storage and you can leave any bits in the tools because they won’t fit in the case, consequently Im using my old case with the new toolsRead full review
