This sound bar has great sound quality when playing music - the bass and treble are perfectly balanced to give you good sound. It’s not so good quality however when using it to play regular tv shows where there is just speech. A poor quality product not fit for purpose

The sound was very average, but to be fair so was the price. The problem was that after one day the optical sound connection totally failed and started making a noise like a broken car exhaust. I tested with another optical cable and another Sony TV but got the same result - it clearly was the sound bar at fault. For me particularly wanting to use optical fibre not wire this made the purchase totally pointless. This device was I'm afraid only fit for the bin and a bad buy - I suggest others consider this if considering a purchase.Read full review

It is what it is.

This is a cheap sound bar. If you want something to replicate being at the cinema, then no. If you want something to make the sound from a small tv in a kitchen, bedroom or study, acceptable then it's great. Speaker output of my TV is 2x 5w. The sound bar is 50w. That's all you need to know really.

Major drawback is lack of ARC connection, which means you will have to use 2 remotes. ARC connection will cost you a lot more though.Read full review

Works well on optical and Bluetooth connections.
Is far better than my TV sound system and good for playing music.
Equaliser could have been better with more sound settings but this is a minor point.

Great little compact soundbar

I like this Majority Bowfell mini soundbar. I keep it on my bedside drawers and use it to listen to streams / music / video files off my smartphone via the bluetooth. I also connect it to my laptop with the 3.5mm jack cable (as my laptop has no bluetooth) as the sound from this soundbar is much better than the awful audio my laptop has. I also plug in a USB stick and play music files off of that (MAKE SURE ANY USB DRIVE YOU PLUG IN IS FORMATTED TO FAT32, or it won't work). You can also connect this speaker to your tv with your own optical cable or with the RCA cable provided. If you have grown tired of low quality sound from your laptop/phone & want to listen to DECENT, CLEAR , LOUD sound instead then this is a great little compact soundbar to buy.Read full review

Quality Soundbar from Majority at a very good price!

Quality soundbar from Majority at a very good price! It doesn't lose clarity even at higher volumes. Despite its compact size of only 38.8cms across, at the highest settings it's very loud. More than loud enough for the average-sized room.

Bluetooth connection was also easy. I haven't yet used the supplied cables (RCA & 3.5mm to 3.5mm Audio cable) as it wasn't necessary. Optical connection also available, but that cable not supplied.

It comes with a standard 12 month warranty, extendable to 36 months by registering one's details on Majority's website. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase.Read full review

Fantastic for the price

Using this on my TV with audio optical. It enhances all the background , music, adds base and ambient sound. Some of which I couldn't hear before. Also it is definitely 2x louder then my 37inch LG LCD while staying crisp.

Most TV allows sound from the TV to continue playing too. There is some voice and foreground sound this soundbar doesn't excel in. Luckily I can leave the TV speakers on too and I get the best of both worlds.

Either buy this or skip straight to a £100 plus 2.1 with subwoofer (so you don't need to leave TV speakers on also).Read full review

Arrived promptly, had to use digital optical cable to connect to tv but once done no problems & sound quality definitely an upgrade to tv speakers. One downside is the addition of another remote for volume and no tone adjustment.Read full review

Compact, powerful with a great sound.

This soundbar may be small but the sound it produces fills the room. It hides away unobtrusively in the cabinet beneath my TV and yet it has enhanced every programme we have watched so far. I have bought an optical cable and noticed a big difference compared with the provided rca cable. Tones are crisp and there is a depth to the bass which I didn’t expect from such a small device.
