Improves the brightness
Much bright light than incandescent bulb but you cannot adjust to a spotlight because there is no range for adjustment of the focal position. As long as you only need diffuse lighting it is good, with the added benefit that the battery should last much longer too.Read full review

Good but could do with design improvement.
A much brighter bulb than the original incandescent type. The bulb pushes the lens and reflector housing forward, but there was not enough thread left to keep that part secure. I removed the plastic reflector unit and shimmed the reflector housing with o-rings to ensure the torch would switch off correctly. With hindsight I should have considered putting the cost towards a new LED Solitaire model.Read full review

Don’t fix what ain’t broke.
This item for me at least, does not function as expected. In order for the thumb switch to operate the power on / off function, you will first need to unscrew the head of the torch (as you would normally switch it on). However, the replacement LED torch head has a shorter thread. This results in the thread on the torch head only just being held on. A slight touch or knock ant the torch head falls off and its ‘lights out’
Please also note that installing the LED alternative means you lose the spot to flood ability.

It was easy to,fit,but when tested, the beam adjustment was restricted, due to the thickness of the part below the LED

A major improvement in light output but the torch no longer fits together properly. The lens cap is only held on by a turn of thread and could easily be lost.

Poor output.
Very disappointed. I had high hopes for this. Don't know if I got a faulty one but the output is so poor the beam will barely touch your feet. It's literally 2 or 3 lumen, 4 at most, even with a fresh battery. It's certainly not bright enough to light a dark path, maybe fumbling with your keys at the door at best. I swapped it out as the original 22 year old incandescent bulb is brighter.Read full review

Nice upgrade
Much better than the standard bulb, easy to swap but does cause the lens to sit a bit further forward than normal and you lose the ability to focus the beam so there is a central dark spot but this mentioned in the blurb so not unexpected. Still worth it. Read full review

Bad mods
Feels like the end of the torch might fall off it’s on about one n half threads. The button for the back requires a lot of force to push making it near pointless using. I would not recommend these upgrades.Read full review
