Great way to get in to smart homes

Got this for my parents and they love it. It's so nice to be able to just program the lights to coincide with your schedule and forget about them. With this being made by Lutron, the company that basically created dimmers, it feels reassuring that they don't just go belly up like a lot of lighting companies do. Excellent product for adding light switches

This dimmer kit is awesome. It works perfectly. My pico remote works all over my house. A fantastic product. Would definitely recommend. Easy to install.

Some difficulty installing.

I installed the dimmer as 3 way and on power up the lights came on but dimmer had no lights and were not responding. Youtube fixes did not solve. I tested voltage and connected the “live” to one connecting and the two remaining wires to the second dimmer wire. Still no luck. Phoned customers services and requested a call back at 10 PM. They called back within 5 minutes and were super helpful. After explaining what I did and we ruled out bulbs by adding one incandescent they identified the problem. The position of my switch was that the switch was not the master so the live I identified was a strapper from the other switch.the solution was to switch the live with one strapper and presto it worked!Read full review

The Lutron Caseta dimmer kit is a great way to get into smart lighting

We wanted to manage the brightness of a bank of 6 lights on a stage. The light bulbs are 23 watt LEDs so the 150 watt limitation of a Casetta dimmer switch was not a problem. And after we completed the installation we are quite pleased with how well it works. However, the installation guide is pathetic and the Lutron app install exercise isn't straightforward. Installation was like an Adventure game. We attempted to install the bridge and the first dimmer switch several times before everything worked and we don't know what incantation made it work. This experience really puzzles me because I had previously installed a BDG2 bridge at another location using the app and it went 1-2-3. We bought the Lutron dimmers because they don't require a neutral line as do 3-way switches or or other brands. The electricity required in the Lutron dimmer switches to respond to control signals flows through the LED bulbs instead of a neutral line. Our LED light bulbs turn off completely below 20% current and do not flicker so that is not a problem to us. It is best to check whether your bulbs flicker at low voltage.Read full review
