When PTFE tape is not thick enough
When ordinary PTFE tape is not thick enough to seal a threaded plumbing job without many turns, then Loctite 55 is the answer. In addition it is not necessary to use lots of turns to form a good strong seal.
Highly recommended.Read full review

My go to thread sealer
Brilliant, works better than PTFE tape. Feels like a secure joint and it can be backed off without losing integrity. This is now my go to thread sealing method.

Exellent
New to plumbing and having problems with 1 1/4" pipe fittings on a well installation. PTFE tape and joint tape worked in some places but it took this product to stop all of the leaks. Very good product.Read full review

First time and no leaks or weeping.
First time I used it. No leaks. Used to use PTFE tape and as I'm not hugely experienced DIYER, it was hit or miss if it leaked or not.
I feel more confident with this stuff , even though I did check it several times after.
I won't buy PTFE again.Read full review

Works, but you need loads and it doesn't "lock tight"
It does the job but you need many. many more winds than the packet suggests. e.g. for 3/4" about 20-30 turns and it still doesn't really "hold"

Excellent
Excellent stuff, just a few turns around the threads and screw it in, so simple to use and no leaks.
