New model is greatly inmproved
Has a much better float system than the previous models that had a float below a vertical needle that activated the pump switch. The old ones would "hang up" and cause the overflow switch to shut off the AC. The new one is a hinged float that cannot get stuck.Read full review

Replaced old one with new one. Old one was 17 years old still working. Simple to install. Just plugged in and it started working. Well made and all I had to do was plug it in. Item arrived quick. Item exact match to old pump. Easy to install. Local HVAC dealer quote to install, parts and labor $300.00. I did the install in 15 minutes! The pump is very quiet and works well. I noticed that the pump should be cleaned at each filter change. Easy to follow instructions are included with the pump. My old pump lasted over 9 years and to be honest I never cleaned as recommended in the owners manual.
