Treasured memories!

I am really enjoying this book. A friend told me about the author and book; so I'm enjoying reading and reminiscing. I share many similar memories of growing up a farm within 12-15 miles from her area.;
Although I grew up in the early 1950's and 60's, many saying, recipes, and experiences remained the same.

easy read, nice story

I enjoyed this book. It wasn't a book you can't put down, but a gentle story of a young girl growing up on a farm. Some parts are funny, other parts were sad. It was interesting how some things echoed my own growing up in on the edge of a larger city. It moves well; the writer tells a good story.Read full review

Great Gift

I bought this book as a gift for my mother. She enjoyed the story of children growing up in the Great Depression just like she did.

Details of Old Iowa Farm Life

Although she grew up in the 1930's, she lived half her year on an old farm like the ones in the 1800's with no running water inside and no bathroom inside. I loved all the details of their lives & could picture how my ancestors lived who lived about 3 counties over.Read full review
