Lepai LP-2020A + Tripath TA2020 Class-T Hi-Fi Audio Amplifier with Power Supply

Perfect little amplifier.

This is the 3rd time I have purchased this amplifier. While I still have and use the first one that I bought 4 years, I use these in projects that I make for others. It has clean sound and the bass and treble knobs will boost their respective frequency much more than the average stereo receiver. It makes for a perfect amplifier if you need sound that is clean and fairly loud, not dj equipment loud, but loud enough to have to shout over.

Power consumption at idle is .1 amp
Total power used before distortion is .5 amp @ 12 volts.
So it's about a 6 watt amp.Read full review

Great amplifier for a low cost

I have two of these and have been amazed at their great performance when used with book shelf size speakers. Be sure when you buy one of these that you are getting the original model. Some similar ones manufactured later under a similar brand name appear to rather cheaply made and operate poorly compared to this one.Read full review

You Will Never FInd Something Like This For the Original $20 Again.

You;ll never see something quite like this again for $20. These now go for $70 on eBay. It was good, REAL good, while it lasted. I got 3 of these babies. Too bad I broke 2 of them thinking I can experiment it's only $20 they'll always be around. The sound quality out of the easily matched a $60 amplifier. Still the Benchmark in its Class

I now own several of the chip-type amps including two of the LP-2020A+, a TPA3116D2, another 2.1 version, and a B&O ICEpower 50ASX2. The ICEpower is in another league power-wise, but when it comes to warm, clean, MUSIC, the Lepai Tripath is still my listening fave, paired with my old Optimus 5's. I'm using a 13.5v 4.4a power supply. No one who hears/sees this setup can believe that this cheapo shiny chrome-faced thing with the obnoxious blue light is making the music they're listening to! Beware of the counterfeits (Lepy) and any version but the 2020A+ due to the speaker protection relay, and if it's from PartsExpress you can be reasonably sure it's a good 'un.Read full review
