Leica V-Lux 5 rocks!

This isn’t my first rodeo. I’ve shot Nikon, Canon, Sony, etc. and I knew Leica by reputation was a solid camera, but this one surprised me from the first image. From the proprietary jpeg color space, the depth of clarity with the lenses, the ergonomic design for accessing all the functions at your fingertips, the awesome brightness and definition of the evf with the fully articulated high def lcd monitor as well, covering 28-400mm (equivalent) without changing lenses and all at a very respectable f 2.8-4. This is more than “just” a bridge camera - this is a beast for enthusiasts and pros alike. Editing a batch of images from Washington state I was blown away. And . . . I didn’t have to carry 30 lbs of slr gear! As a Nature photographer I would like to see better weather sealing - Hint, Leica. Read full review

Excellent bridge camera

I am pleased. This camera has build quality and ergonomics, superb glass, layout being intuitive like that of an slr. I think it is worth the notable upcharge from the Lumix parent. This should be handy for travel, but at a diminished level due to the lack of weather sealing.Read full review

Yes there is another camera similar BUT, 1, its not a Leica, 2, Controls on tthe Leica easier to use. Great pictures so far. Just love it.

AWESOME camera!

While the Leica V-LUX cameras are actually made by Panasonic, they are made to Leica specifications, and have real Leica lens.

The zoom range is awesome, and the images are tack sharp.
