Kodak is hitting homeruns in the value game.

The FZ53 is exactly what i wanted, Compact, Convenient, Capable. Please DO learn the menu and options, which are quite extensive for so economical a camera, and you will be taking GREAT shots. Simplest thing is to choose appropriate "Scene" for you cab set that to "Auto" but for indoors or Landscapes might want to choose a setting.
Perhaps the one complaint may be the battery life but I now have it set to max battery saving mode and I'll see if that makes a difference. Otherwise with battery saver OFF I think it stayed on continuously about 30 - 40 min. b4 shutting down. Not a biggie to me. Otherwise, Kodak did an excellent job on the quality of this little camera and features for the price are outstanding.

This is a great update to the previous model, which I am replacing. The most important feature is the chargeable battery that has a longer life than double A disposables.
