This is the second time I have purchased these fire alarms They're really easy to install, great if you have numerous rooms - you can interconnect the alarms to sound when one is triggered. They don't look too ugly mounted on the ceiling either!Read full review

Very happy with this twin sensor pack (This was a direct replacement)

Already had some of these previously, but had to update them as the originals were 13 years old, and one had gone wrong after a leak in our house.
It is recommended that they should be replaced every 10 years, so I replaced both in my house and they seem better than before. The power light is better (bigger & brighter + ceiling mounting bracket partially illuminated too). Comes with 2 (9 volt) batteries.

NOTE :- My house has a separate wiring circuit on the fuse box, because these sensors connect up to the mains, so if one alarm goes off (i.e. downstairs), so does the other one (i.e. upstairs).

I don't know ? if they can be used without a (back-up) mains power supply and rely on just the batteries included,

Replacement Smoke Detectors

We fitted these as our old units had yellowed with age, and when we removed them we found that they should have been replaced 13 years ago! The detectors are mains powered and interlinked with battery back-up. As such the Kidde units were a direct replacement so were easy to fit.Read full review

Great smoke alarms, linked and run on mains with battery backup
