Perfect retrofit for i240C model

Direct retrofit for two existing i240C models that were originally installed when my house when it was first built, but expired in 2016 and none of the previous owners had changed them! It comes with the whole assembly and wiring but you shouldn't need it as it the existing mains wiring and existing plate will fit just fine.

Interestingly, the listing says it doesn't come with batteries but these did (Duracell 9V), just with the pull tab needing to be removed before seating the battery.

Good for 10 years! Bonus is my previous models had yellowed quite a bit on the plastic, these are plain white and will be much nicer on the ceiling!Read full review

Good purchase

Bought these two replacements for old 4870 models. New KF10’s fitted straight on to existing baseplate and connected onto wiring already in place for 4870’s, although new baseplate and wiring supplied in box.
Nice bright green illuminated test button gives off quite a bit of glow in the dark ( a kind of emergency lighting ).

A good make and a good product

Bought as a replacement for a similar model which reached it's 10 year replacement date. I was delighted that the mains connector was the same as the old unit's so didn't need to mess about with the mains wiring.

sensibley priced mains alarms

These are good plain and simple. Easy to fit, I used a (large) junction box to split the feeds required in all directions and a similar/separate arrangement for the physical interlink. it makes adding on for the future a lot easier. The only annoying feature is the larger than average hole (40mm) one has to make in the ceiling to accomodate the upright plug arrangement at the back of the unit - why can't it just lay flat so only a small hole would be required for the wires?

I purchased 2 of these smoke alarms as direct replacements for my existing alarms that had replacement dates stamped on the back of them they were fitted in 2007 and i was expecting to have change the base plates thinking the new alarms would not fit the old ones i was very pleased to discover the new alarms were a direct fit onto the old base plates making the replacement process very easy, which goes to proove it is always worthwhile purchasing a good quality product. i would reccommend these alarms to anyone a first class product worth every penny.Read full review
