Excellent piece of kit which all electricians should have.
Excellent piece of kit. Tried it out in this house - all good, Tried it out in my mothers house - various issues which I now need to correct. It did explain why one of her socket rings was tripping the RCD (dodgy earth). It is a very easy to use (and well documented) piece of equipment. If I did have one comment - I'd like the instructions on an A4 sheet so I can laminate and keep it handy - but that's just me. It's small (as you would expect), so it can sit in with your tools and not get lost. It's easy to read the issue (though you need to look at it with the instructions to begin with), the beeper is nice and loud, so even in a noisy environment you can hear it easily.Read full review

Excellent piece of kit.
Hi,
Our bungalow is 53 years old and over the years work has been carried out by previous owners and by me on the electrics. I decided to completely upgrade the electrics from scratch but before I install a new consumer unit I want to be certain the electrics are safe so I bought this socket tester.
Using the socket tester is extremely simple; I plugged it into one of the 13A sockets on the ring and switched it on; brilliant the circuit tested perfect; I then did the same test on the ring in the workshop and again it was perfect; it might seem a lot of money just to perform a couple of tests but this money has been well spent; it gives peace of mind because unsafe electrical circuits can prove fatal and cause fire.
When I visit friends I'll take the socket tester along and give their electrics a quick check after all I've now got the socket tester so may as well use it.
This socket tester is compact so takes up little space and it comes with clear to understand instructions; for anyone just wanting to check their electrics this socket tester can be bought; used just for the check then sold on; cheaper than getting a sparky in; obviously any fault then a sparky would need to be called in. This is such a useful bit of kit I'll not part with it. What price safety?
Kind regards, ColinRead full review

Very useful bit of kit.
A very useful bit of kit. Very easy to use, just plug it in and view the indicator LEDs. It won't tell you exactly where the fault is but it certainly will indicate that you have a fault. I know now that I have a fault in the ring main in my house which will need further investigation. Very good as a 'quick check' tool.Read full review

Socket testing made easy
Bought it to check out two old properties we bought. It does just what the box says! We identified several problem sockets and it flagged up earthing problem and after investigating found a bad earth connection. No substitute for loop impedance testers but ideal everyday testing.Read full review

A
Good handy bit of kit, seems quite expensive against some others but does do a bit more than the run of the mill cheap ones, easy to use just plug in and it runs through the test automatically, looks and feels a quality bit of kit.Read full review

Good price
As an electrician, you must leave Electrical work safe when you do work and this is great for testing circuits before a full meter test. For householders landlords etc. It’s ideal for making sure that RCDs are working and that the earth is present. It could be a life saver.Read full review

Good bit of kit but with limitations.
Bought this as we moved into a house where there seemed to be no history of the electrical system ever being checked. Using the Kewtech Loopcheck 107 gave me confidence in the system within a couple of hours. Of course, it doesn't check everything and is no substitute for a full system test by an experienced tradesman. Any bad readings would have prompted me to call a qualified electrician. If you know what you are checking and understand the limitations of the Loopcheck 107, then it is a marvelous bit of kit. Recommended.Read full review

Just the Job!
It's quite a bit more useful, with the earth loop test, than the run of the mill socket testers.
KEW seem to be a very good outfit indeed, have a few of their products, and they're all damned good!Read full review

Handy affordable Tester
A simple tester, which requires no disconnection of cables. I may not do the full test at various leakage currents as required to satisfy the regulations, but proves the disconnection time at 30 mA which is deemed to be the value to protect against serious shock.Read full review
