A very good radio for a new hams first radio for HF.
The radio is a very good one and has a lot of good settings for both transmit and receive. It's takes a little time to learn how to use all the good features but is not hard even without a manual.

First Impression
The Kenwood TS 450s is truly a dream to operate was really impressed on its performance, first contact with it was on the Island of Guam running about 65 watts into a long wire antenna...would I buy another, in a heartbeat!!!! Excellent receive on CW that really filter's out the garbage. To bad this 1990's model not in production anymore. For whatever price you see a good operating one for sale....buy it!!! It's well worth the money and I don't think you'll be disappointed.Read full review

One of the best Ham Radios I believe.
I bought this radio used and it works just like a new one. The sound is very clear and
not much static except on nights when everyone is complaining. The noise blanker appears
to work good.
I would sure buy it again if I had to. And if this one ever breaks down I will try to find
another like it.Read full review

Ts 450 still a very good inexpensive radio
An oldie but goodie. Great receive and good sounding transmitter. They are inexpensive compared to all those modern radios. Unless you are a big contester this radio should be enough for the casual operator.Read full review
