Magnetic awning attachment
I bought this after reading many mixed reviews.
As I don't have a rail to attach my awning to my van, My reason for purchasing this item was to have something that would help the awning stay in place and not flap about on the top of my van in windy conditions. With the use of the awning guidelines pegged down over the roof of the van to hold the awning in place it did exactly what I was hoping for.
If you think the magnetic strip is all you will need to attach your awning you will be mistaken. The magnets are not very strong and do move if you don't use guidelines to secure it. I purchased it with the intention of it being a secondary fixing.
I'm very happy with my purchase as it did exactly as I expected it to do. The strip comes with three loops sewn in so you can attach ropes or lines if your awning does not have them attached already. All the items included in the package were good quality and as described.
So overall if your planning on using this as the only method to attach your awning you may be disappointed in even the slightest bit of wind, but if like me you are purchasing it as secondary fixing it will do the job. I found it easy to simply unpeg the three guidelines and lift the magnets of the van to drive away. Then simply throw the lines over the roof and lay the magnets on top of van again. You don't have to disconnect the figure of 8 and magnetic strip from your awning if you don't want to. Read full review...

Weak magnets no good for hight top
The magnets are slightly stronger than fridge magnets so no good for a primary attachement. Build quality is good and there are loops to attach to a roof rail. So unless you've got a roof rail I wouldn't bother. It was no good on a sprinter.Read full review...

Magnetic C Rail
Tried it today for the first time and it pulled off the top of the camper fairly easily but, it was windy whilst trying to put up the air awning. Hopefully once it's set up properly next week on the camp site, and I don't have to move the camper, it should be fine. I will be using lashing straps as well just to be safe. Hopefully, the magnets will be strong enough. Read full review...

Drive away
Shyed away from these thinking it wouldn't work but should have got one ages ago. Perfect length for my boxer van, magnets are really strong with the added bonus of guy lines. Really impressed

Weak Magnetic strip
This product would be ideal if the magnetic strip was stronger. However, I have stronger fridge magnets! To rectify this I ordered strong magnets from another company that I will have to use in conjunction with this product.Read full review...

Clever but no Cigar
Really clever idea however if you like to see a man or woman chasing an awning then this is the product.. Few times took off and over the van as the magnets are not really strong enough.
Okay when no breeze and a still day.Read full review...

Would need a better mag strip
Good idea well enough made but let down by a very poor magnetic bond to Vechicle roof, I will have to modify this to make it useable

Kampa magnetic awning strip
Can be made to do the job with adjustments and being held on with the guy lines but just not very magnetic.

This worked pretty well but I did need a couple of thin rope lines as well, just to secure the awning to the roof rails on a windy day.
