Very useful basing mix

I use this for basing wargames figures . I glue the figures onto midfield or play, then texture the base with this mixed with pea glue. Once set I then fix it with PCs glue mixed with my base colour which is yellow ochre these days. When that dries another pea coat and Jarvis scatter great randomly . Javis sand & stone ballast .

There are a few larger stones (About 2mm) in this mix. These can be sifted out with a seive and used for the beds of rivers and the ballast is very even. I have used it already on board three of my railroad model and it looks great. Using the PVA glue mixed 50-50 with water (with a drop of colourless washing up liquid) to fix it in place works wonderfully with this mix. I have used several different Javis products so far on the layout and have had no problems with any of them.Read full review
