Good things in small packages

I was a little doubtful as to whether this speaker would be upto the job but, as other reviews were OK and it was reduced from £50 to £14.99 what the heck.

A very pleasant surprise, very easy pairing with my tab and a great sound for the size. As some other reviews note, you can't expect massive bass from such a small unit but overall its very good. I've put it on a shelf in a large kitchen and it sounds great!

Produces an amazing sound for its size.

I have compared the Jam Titanium with a Riva Turbo X, a Bose Soundlink Mini and a 'generic' bluetooth speaker about the same price as the Jam,but physically roughly twice the size.

The Riva Turbo X is excellent, producing good mid bass at good volumes. The Bose is if anything mid-bass heavy at low volumes, but at higher volumes the bass rolls off. The Titanium provides a very balanced sound, with surprisingty strong mid bass for its size, and decent volume with bass maintained. The generic unit provides a cheerful, clear, balanced sound, but it has far less mid bass than the Titanium. None of these units reproduce any really low bass; it is deliberately filtered to conserve power and work within the limitations of the drivers. (If you play Prodigy and hear two seconds of silence after "Give me a little bass", your system is not reproducing low bass.)

In short, the Titanium makes me wonder why anybody would pay ten times the price for the Bose unit. It is smaller, almost as loud and has the right amount of bass.Read full review
