Quite heavy but plenty of power and good value

A lot in the box for the money.
All the attachments work well although it is not professional quality it is good enough for most tasks. I have a big sloping area of scrub and it copes with it easily. Using 3mm strimmer line also makes a huge difference over the stuff supplied. It has plenty of power and will cut thick brambles with ease. Pole attachments are really useful and I love the chainsaw for reaching high branches. It also comes with face guard, gloves and ear protection. The only thing I don't like is the harness - I found it difficult to attach and use and ended up fitting the shoulder strap off my old McCulloch. It is quite heavy but I'll take that as a trade off for the high power motor. Overall I think it is great value with free delivery too!Read full review

Mistake

I brought this machine to replace a Ryobi which kept breaking. The motor is good but extremely heavy at least 3 times that of other machines. The attachments are very poor quality the strimmer head doesn't feed the line out at all, the hedge cutter has broken and doesn't fold away anymore and I haven't use the chainsaw attachment yet because the weight of machine with the extention and the attachment makes it very heavy to work with.Read full review

Garden multitool

Bought for heavy domestic use alongside Partner, Stihl and Mcullogh two stroke tools. Flashed up first time which is reassuring. Engine seems a bit large for type of tool but it's not short of power, the cost is increased vibration and weight. Some thought has gone into design as it has grease nipples to ensure bearing life is met with quick maintenance. Trigger assembly seems a bit flimsy but that is my only build quality quibble. Oh and machine is a lovely shade of blue. The big selling point of this tool is the cost. Probably a third cheaper than commercial grade equivalent with two year warrenty. My purchase strategy is to use and throw away in 3/4 years. If it lasts that long I'll be into pocket.Read full review

Quality item but more industrial than domestic

Very good quality item that was well-packed and easy to setup using the supplied tool kit. The 50cc engine is powerful but noisy. Great for strimmimg but the whole unit is quite heavy when inverted and with the extension on for the pole or hedge trimmers the use of the harness is a must. Also, when extended it is difficult find a suitable position to hold the unit in to start it. Finally, the hedge trimmer could do with being 6" longer.Read full review

Hyundai Multitool HYMT5080

Comprehensive array of tools included and assembly is straight forward. The fact that the retaining circlips have been removed from the drive shafts in each attachment is somewhat of a problem The drive shafts can slide out which is a concern.
The machine started and functioned well but I had a problem with the throttle lever and the plastic throttle spring attachment which snapped off. I have had to repair this.

Very poor machine and service

I have had this machine for less than 5 months and it has done very little work as it is winter. The throttle catch is now sticking on which is both dangerous and is also causing the motor to over run. A lot of kit for the money, however it is heavy . I used it today as a strimmer and it's hard to be neat , I,m 6ft 4 and 17 stone and it's cumbersome . It will however be ideal for me with the other attachments.

Great Value - Quality tool

I selected this tool after a lot of comparisons and talking to local garden centers - they wanted £800 plus for a big name tool to give me all the functions I needed. I chose the Hyundai for engine power and the 2 year warranty . It arrived on time and I found it straight forward to assemble as per the instructions and the video. I used Aspen fuel and it started 3rd pull. I have so far used the strimmer and pole saw - both seem sturdy and gave mo problems- i also like the extension pole which seems to work well. Overall I am really pleased with it as a good value tool for DIY use - My only concern will be that it may be a bit heavy but thats a trade off I accept for the sturdy design .Read full review
