Huberd's shoe grease.

Kind of old school, but the shoe grease does an excellent job at repelling water. It has a campfire type of spell after applied, but I usually leave my boots out in the sun to dry & air out for a day. It will darken the leather a bit. I've used this product on 3-4 boots over the years, and will continue to apply it in the future. It does not seem to harm the threads of my boots like other products I've read about. One last thing is if it is warmed up by putting the can in hot water, or just leaving in sunlight, before stirring up, it applies very smoothly.

Too early to tell...

Just got it. I need to wait and see how well it does over time. I like the ingredients. That's why I got it in the 1st place. Like the art on the can too. Looks good. The smell doesn't bother me. I applied a coat on a pair of new leather sandals and two coats on a pair of old leather sandals. It does seem to give the leather protection from water and to improve its condition. Let's see what happens a few weeks from now and eventually I'll come back and update this comments. Marcos.Read full review

Old-fashioned, but still one of the best treatments for shoe leather

Huberd's Shoe Grease has been around for almost 90 years, and it is still one of the best conditioners/waterproofing treatments for leather boots and shoes. It also works well to soften and preserve other leather items, such as knife sheaths, instrument cases, etc.. It is easy to use, just apply and rub into the leather. I have even used it to help restore flexibility to an old knife sheath from the WW II era given to me by my father.

The product is not intended for use on dress shoes, and will likely cause the treated leather to darken slightly. It keeps for a long time, and can be applied as needed.

I have used Huberd's Shoe Grease for almost 40 years, and am delighted to find that it is again readily available in the marketplace. Give this all-natural product a try!

Huberds Shoe Grease-A must have for your boot/shoes

After reading the reviews on Huberds shoe grease you can’t appreciate the comments about how soft or well protected your boots eventually end up after using Huberds until you try Huberds for your self.
I found myself oddly drawn to the scent of Huberds which most describe as a Smokey barbecue and applying it with bare hands- I liked the connection of Huberds grease on my fingers and rubbing into my boots- it gave me a close connection from accomplishing directly by hand.
Applying the grease was simple and easy, taking approx 10 min. After Huberds dried, my boots finish looked like a satin leather and felt like soft satin to the touch. The leather is so soft and aesthetic you almost don’t want to wear them to get them scuffed!
Huberds has changed my leather making me want to keep touching my Wolverine 1000’s

GOOD STUFF

I’ve been using Huberds for years. Great on my work boots. Seems like it soaks in deep and lasts along time. I put it on all of my leather works I make, billfolds, knife sheaths, holsters. Will darken light colored leather but I think it looks cool. Try a test area first.Read full review

Works really well, never heard of it before!

This has the texture of car lube grease and can be applied much easier than the solid "wax" type boot treatment. The grease rubs easily into the crevasses, esp where boot meets sole. The only downside is that your boots stink like petroleum for a day or two, then the odor is gone. The pine tar and beeswax active ingredients are carried in a low-volatility petroleum-based solvent of some sort. Huberd's Shoe Grease does darken the leather some, also.Read full review

Best Stuff For Your Boots

Smells great, easy to apply (no heating) and no animal products. Really preserves work boots well, as long as you clean and dry them off after you use them. I've had my Dunham's for seven years and I work on a farm, so they see some use. Huberd's (and Sno-Seal in the winter) keeps them preserved so I don't have to buy another pair.
I use it on my leather bicycle saddles, knife scabbards, etc., too.

Old School Cool

Huberd's is kind of old school, and I have been using it for years, beginning when I lived near the Washington Cascades, and I wanted to keep my hiking boots in good condition and my feet dry. As a motorcyclist, I using it on boots, gloves, leathers, etc. I used this can to treat a leather jacket I've had for decades that is holding up very well thanks to periodic treatment. It's really great for my keeping my riding boots waterproof.

Downsides? A little smelly when you're applying it. Can be a little messy, so I put a towel across my lap when using a small paint brush to apply to a garment. Sometimes it takes a day or two to be fully absorbed, then I take a shoe brush to the garment to eliminate any excess.

Excellent for Boots

I put this stuff on my WWII Buckle boots for reenacting, and no water gets in, this is probably one of the best waterproof greases I've ever used. Highly recommend. When I say waterproof, I mean that I can stand in water up to the top of the boot, and none will get in. I did this on a hike last year and was highly impressed.Read full review

Best all around leather care and leather water proofing I've found!

Started using Huberd's Shoe grease almost 50 years ago and have not found a better leather water proofing on the market. It really works and helps to bring old leather back to life. It is not meant for fine, garment leathers but for get down and dirty leather work boots, hiking boots, packer boots, chaps, bridles and reins, saddles and harness leather. You have to pay a little more for it but in the long run I think it is worth it. Is it greasy and gooey? Yep, that's what makes it so good. TTRead full review

Protects waterproofs, long time user

It protects and waterproofs. It does gather a little dust but it's worth it. It softens but will not stretch the leather. You should use it when boots are new and occasionally thereafter but clean them first.
I have been using this product for 44 years and always have been pleased with the results. I have tried other products that have a bad reaction to my feet. But not from Huberd's. Huberd's is always easy on your feet.
