Upon receiving the Hoover Smart Wash, and opening the box that it was packed in, I was a little dismayed that the electrical plug would not fit the power point, I had to purchase an attachment to fit the plug so that I could plug it in the PowerPoint. America and Australia have different types of power points, I would suggest in future that an attachment would be sent with the article that would be sent to Australia that would make the customer happy.Read full review

Hoover Smartwash Shampooer (refurbished)

Very impressed. Operates more like a vacuum- not bulky There is nothing difficult about this shampooer. It cleaned my carpet much better than my last one (also a hoover- which leaked during use). I can increase the amount of shampoo dispensed by moving slower on the forward movement. Likewise slow movement is essential during the backward (dry) movement. The 'dry only' feature is really nice. Using only clean water to rinse the carpet (after you are done shampooing), is as simple as removing the shampoo container. Brushes are easy to access. I had no difficulty in getting any part to snap back in place after cleaniing or emptying it.

Only con that I have is that there is no way to turn the brush roll off at any time.Read full review

Great little machine

I was hesitant to buy this shampooer on ebay, but it was the best decision I made! Even though it is remanufactured it works amazing! I tried it out the very next day and all my did it pull up the dirt and yuck in my carpet, that I thought my other shampooer was doing! Well this machine proved it was doing a good job! Great product at a great price.

This is my third Hoover carpet cleaner. It is far superior to the previous models. It is super easy to use and also very easy to clean afterwards. Most importantly it does a great job cleaning carpets. I've had it awhile now and have used it about 4 times and must say I just love it. I think Hoover put a lot of thought in designing this product. If you are looking for a carpet cleaner, I highly recommend this one. I was a bit leery when buying this as the price was so much better than anywhere else, but it was new it the box and certainly a genuine Hoover. I love my Hoover

Easy to use, and very easy to clean. I've used two other brands that friends loaned me. My major problem was pet hair gets caught in areas of the machine you can't get to. With the Hoover that is not a problem. The scrub rollers even come out for easy cleaning. I've only used it once so far and it was a small job, but when we finish painting the down stairs I will really put it through its paces. At that time I will add to my review.Read full review

The best of the Best!

After reading product reviews on other brand of carpet washers, this is the best by far. Others complain about having to add water all the time or solution. This works like a champ. I really like it. The vacuum part of it, when you pull the machine backwards, really takes a lot of the water out of the carpet. 15 minutes and I'm walk on it with dry socks. I did an above size master bedroom, regular spare bedroom, and I have a custom made 15 x 24 theater carpet in the living room. The theater carpet was the only thing I was scared about because it cost a lot to have made to my design. Needless to say, did all 3 areas and did not have to refill it with water. It was getting low but so what. I just vacuumed the carpet really good before I used the machine, so I didn;t think I would catch much stuff. Wrong! Looked like a bad cup of coffee. Only disadvantage and you'll have this with all machines, is the cleanup. Took me about 20 - 30 minutes, but I like my stuff to stay looking new. Actually can't wait to use it again. This carpet cleaner would be worth the full price. At the refurbished price it was a steal. It works well, handles well, and it’s easy to operate. How it operates and is taken apart is so much easier than our previous Hoover. The only things I don’t like are that the release petal is a little hard to release and it drips some; but I think that might be expected in all cleaners. Our last Hoover dripped dirty water into the carpet and stained it; so I worry; so far this just drips some clean water. Other than that I am very happy.
