Plug in and done no messing

Reading the Firestorm owners forum about the Honda regulator and it's short comings I was a little hesitant to buy this modified Honda part.
It still does not use MOSFETs but has some extra metal fining to help with heat dissipation time will tell if it lasts.
I opted to buy it because of the 1 year warranty and the ease of it being a plug and play replacement. It is a 10 mins job to fit and after firing the engine up checked with my multimetre showing a 14.28v charge rate so all good for now.Read full review

Genuine, as it says- happy!

If you search for a replacement Reg/Rect for the Deauville, there is a whole range of items and prices. They range from what is clearly a cheaply made Chinese pattern part, to a high quality UK replacement needing some alterations to the original wiring-needing tools that few people may own.
Making it more difficult is that the pattern units, despite looking identical, vary in price from under a tenner to over a hundred pounds.
Honda spares specialists, such as Dave Silver Spares, offer a good service, but do not list the Deauville Reg/Rect. Since mine failed so suddenly and totally, I ruled out a replacement from the breakers. The later 700 version is different anyway, so that was another layer of uncertainty about second hand units.
I searced for days online for a new, genuine item, and this was it.
It is concealed behind the rear fairing, so getting everything off to get access to it, took longer than fitting the unit itself. Once fitted, it behaved perfectly straight away, and for the the past months.
