Hi-Tec RDX1 AC/DC Battery Charger/Discharger - Black/Red (44245)

Great compact charger!

For anyone currently using the "B6" chargers like the Tenergy TB6 or IMAX B6 chargers look into this Hitec as an upgrade. It's just as easy to use, It has a few more features and more information on the display plus it's more customizable. But the biggest selling point for me was how quickly it'll storage charge LIPO batteries! My old IMAX B6 would take hours to storage charge my 5200mah 2 and 3S Lipo's. This charger can do it in 30 minutes possibly faster if I set the storage charge amps to above 3 amps.

As for regular balance charging it basically the same about an hour or less depending on who much of a charge your pack has. This charger can charge up to a 6000mah pack where as the TB6 and IMAX chargers top out around 500ah.

Hitec also has a pro version of this charger to which has a 100watts for a little more money. But I'm fine with the regular version.

One last feature I like is during balance charge mode the charger will give you a percentage indictor letting you know just how much of a charge is in you pack.

The built in cooling fan is also not that loud but it's not totally silent. It's about the same as a Traxxas EZ PEAK Dual chargers fan, but without the faulty bearings that Traxxas refuses to fix.Read full review

Worked good for a week then one day, I plugged in as normal and no display. The whole screen lights up but no letters. Best charger I've owned!

I don't typically give 5 star reviews as a product needs to be perfect for me to do so. In this case I can't think of anything I'd want this to do differently, tons of options for charging every type of battery there is. Easy to use and set up. Once you create a program (it holds up to 10) you just have to pick that number program next time and press one button and it starts. It even double checks you have the right number of cells selected just in case prior to charging. The screen is easy to read especially when adjusting contrast, and it gives all kinds of info while charging, Amps, Volts per cell, time charging, Milliamps put into the battery etc.. It is also very fast, charged 5000 and 5200 Mah in about 35 minutes at 4. to 4.5 amps. It will go up to 6 amps and down to 1 which is more then enough for just about all batteries. It also has storage mode for Lipos and discharge mode as well. This is my 3rd charger for RC batteries (I have a Traxxas charger and a dynamite mini charger that both still work) but this is by far the best! Also by using 4mm banana cables its super easy to swap out for every type of battery plug there is, it only comes with an XT60 plug though, so if you're using anything else, buy the cable beforehand.Read full review

Nice balance Charge

Nicely set up for Dummies like me to use. A little reading of the manual and you can charge and balance like a pro. I like it a lot. It’s small and portable. Easy to navigate the menu. The only issue is that it doesn’t save the amps from previous use. However not a deal breaker.
