Paint.

Despite leaving my freshly painted garden table and chairs for three days (after spending many days preparing them) there were parts that still didn't dry properly leaving paint residue over my hands and clothes when I handled them despite using the recommended Special Metals Primer.

Thinking there may be some sort of fault with the paint I received I went to my local store and bought another tin which seemed better, but not by much. However, having said that, the finish is very good. It has a high shine which I was initially impressed with - if only it would dry properly I would use this paint in preference to many others.

Runs and is a waste of time and money

Runs and sags,even after 4 days the paint has not able to be sanded without causing and appalling mess...final result is I am saving for a new double up and over garage door mine is a mess.

Too thin

Colour is nice but despite prepping meticulously with hammeite Primer and sanding the paint is too thin so sagged and wrinkled. tried a second tin but same result so i will probably have to strip it all and redo with regular gloss. Its quite plasticky as well so sanding it is problematic. Hammeite metal paint is good for gates but i would avoid this garage door stuff.Read full review

I used to use Hammerite years ago, in them days there wasn’t much choice. It used to thick and sticky and not great to apply, so I stopped using it.
