If you don’t run google home, this is a toy

Setup was easy but I don’t have Home nor chromecast nor 90% of the other connections this offers. So it’s a nice talking weather app that can also answer questions some of the time or play music from YouTube or google play. Won’t connect to my google work calendar which is what I was interested in most. Google device can’t connect to google calendar. SMH. Glad I got it free with an eBay promo or I’d sent it back by now. Whats not to love about the Google Home Mini

Had the orginial Google Home to begin with, which I pretty much use every day.

Cancelled my 2nd Echo order

Already had an Echo, and we were not real happy. Though, glad we tried Google Mini. It's Awesome! BLOWS ALEXA/ECHO OUT OF THE WATER!!! Will be buying one for all rooms and for gifts this Christmas. Sound is much better then expected. And VERY user friendly. A very "Helpful" unit, what one would expect for an at home voice assistant.
This is probably one of the best purchases we made in the last 5 years.

Comes in Handy!

I've been using the Google Home mini for 7 months now. I have it controlling my lights and thermostat. I also have it configured to my phone where I can use it as speaker phone and tell it to call someone from my contacts. My favorite feature is I can verbally set calendar dates and events in my phone using Google calendar without touching my phone. The morning routine is nice listening to weather, news and sports while I have my coffee. Listening to music is easy using a music service such as Pandora, Spotify or Youtube. I've also used it as a Bluetooth speaker for playing music through my phone. I can also set timers for cooking or taking a nap. Reminders are also a nice feature. Controlling the TV can be done by having a compatible AI TV or using Chromecast if the TV isn't AI compatible. When I ask it a question, it usually gives me an answer if it can be found on the net amazingly fast. My granddaughter loves it too, but I don't allow her to use it when she does her homework.Read full review

I purchased another item to help with spelling because I have a speech impediment which I became very frustrated with because not only could it not help me with my spelling, but it also did not understand my verbal commands. Great product at a very affordable price

This is my second Home Mini. I'm very impressed with all that it will do. Now I can communicate with Google Home from most places in my small home without yelling.

I have it working with everything from my Nest thermostat to the Chromecast device attached to my TV to my Wyze security cameras. Plus, it works seamlessly with several remote switches and outlets made by various manufacturers. I have an iPhone and two iPads and have enjoyed using Siri for several years. However, I haven't gone the Apple route for automating my home due to the much higher costs involved. Google Home and the Google Home Mini give me great value at a very good price.Read full review
