Goodmans Base (4.2 channel 100W Soundbase)

Good value sound base

I used to listen to TV sound via my hi-fi but this was to be moved to a different room so I needed something to improve the unlistenable sound produced by the TV itself.
I ruled out soundbars as the larger size of a soundbase must be beneficial for bass frequencies. A soundbar with added woofers was not acceptable owing to the additional space required.
I chose the Goodmans purely from online reviews & the price. An important feature is a bass control as, being a small unit, bass boom could be a problem. There is bass boom but it can be eliminated by cutting the bass, the resulting bass is acceptable.
My hi-fi cost more than 10 times the cost of this soundbase so a sound quality comparison would be unfair. However, the sound quality is fine for TV, bluetooth and MP3s. It is not hi-fi, how can it be at such a low price, so I would not recommend for CD or vinyl.

I bought this sound base mainly to stream music from my ipodphone, well i wasn't dissapointed the sound quality is great, with good rich base. The bluetooth range is exellent also. Great sound for your flat panel TV.

Very pleased with this sound stage don't see the need for more expensive one. It's sitting under a 46 Samsung and can go loud, also looks good. Easy to set up. Recommended.

good as i hoped for for the price

bought to replace 2 decent creative speakers - now on computer. sound quality is a little better
bluetooth is a big plus. we are not talking Sonos here but i think its value for money
